Default Any shops around Chicago?

I have a neice up in the Chicago area looking for a mechanic, she has a blown head gasket on her V-6 Firebird. She took it to the GM dealership up there but I guess the guy she talked to told her she should just trade it in Does anybody know a shop up there? Thanks guys.

Yes it is overheating, apparently the GM Mechanic said it was a blown head gasket. With me being in NM I have not seen the engine or I would just fix it but she said the mechanic did say it was a head gasket, what I don't understand is why they said they wouldn't do it.

If she took it to the dealer I am thinking of it doesn't surprise me one bit

If you would like someone to take a look at it to confirm that it is a head gasket, send me a PM. Happy to help someone who is helping all of us

on the 6'ers the lower intake gasket will blow. I have replaced a few intake gaskets thinking it was a head gasket. Very hard to tell until you get them apart
