Default Central Indiana Shop Recommendations

Folks,

I am looking to put an LSX in my 1967 Firebird.

May be looking to add a new subframe and front and rear suspension as well.

I am looking for suggestions on a good shop to assist me.

Would love for the place to be in North Indy or north of Indy, but I am not too choosy.

I would also consider someone that wants to do this on the side.

Thanks

Jeff Anderson

Do it yourself and save a few thousand. Read the stickies in the conversions section. I did mine, with a lot of help from members. It wasn't that bad, the first time I had done anything like this before. I had a guy ask me last night who put the motor in for me, I told him I did it myself. Very rewarding. Any more questions pm me. Good luck. John

Give Exotic Performance Plus or Lingenfelter Engineering a call. The guys at EPP are great, and I know that Lingenfelter does conversions.

Just do it yourself.... Like the other guy said, It will give you a great sense of pride when your done.

I do all of my own work, and I love it when people ask who did the work... And I say - ME!

Where are you located? My dad owns a restoration/custom business. He specializes in F-bodys and has 2-3 first gen firebirds in the shop right now if I remember correctly. Another project he's working on is a 5.9 Cummins swap in a late 70's Ford F350. He's located in Logansport In. I will say he is not cheap, but the quality of work is unreal. Here are a few pics of some of his work.

He and I did all the work on my car too....

Folks - thanks for the input!

I really do have confidence that I can do it myself - just not sure how long it will take me and I want to be driving now!

I am in Carmel - Logan would not be too far - probably going to try and do it myself.

Wise choice man. And if you get it all together and the electrical part starts getting you stumped, just think of how much cheaper it's going to be to get just the wirirng done rather than a whole swap! Wiring always seems to be a big issue for people.

Good Luck

James
