Default Anyone got wood...... for a smoker!

I'm heading out of state in a couple weeks and need to score some wood logs to use in my Dads smoker. Hickory, apple, cherry, oak, or maple that has been drying for a while would be great. Please let me know if you have some I could score from you or know a place to get some in the Chicago/suburb area. Thanks Vince

If you find some let me know, I am on the look out as well. I would be willing to haul away a cut down apple tree...thats for sure!

I did a search on Craig's list and found a few. If I get some maybe we can split a face cord! I'll keep you in mind. Vince

Sounds good Vince. Even half a face cord is a lot of wood for the amount of smoking I do. Let me know what you work out. If I run across something I will let you know.

Wood. He said wood. The name of my hockey team and softball team is Morning Wood.

My parents have 3 apple trees that I want to cut down. Let me know if that is of any interest to you. You would have to help. That about all of the wood that I have (insert joke here).

I have a chainsaw and would definitely be interested. I dont need a ton of wood though. I think Vince and I would be able to take most of one of the trees.

Vince...your thoughts?

Maybe we can start with one and go from there.

Where r u headed? If you are coming down around southern Indiana I could get you some hickory, cherry or maybe some apple. When they had that ice storm in Kentucky last year there were a ton of trees down so I went and picked some up. Let me know if ur coming this direction.

I'm heading to Arkansas so indyanner might be a bit out of the way. I appreciate the thoughts! When I get back maybe some for stock at the house would be good. I'll keep it in mind. Vince

I didn't read to see if anybody else said it, but Craigslist usually has a good amount of wood for very cheap.

I have never read about someone using it. I'll have to look into it.
