Looking to move to Champaign/Savoy area...Who's out there?? Hey all, just wondering how many guys are in the area cuz i'd love to get together and meet some people when it gets nice out so i'm not quite so alone in a new area. Hoping to do some cruising as well! Looking for jobs and rentals now and expect to be moved by the end of my lease march 31st if all goes as planned.

I live 45 miles south of champaign in Charleston. There are some car meetups at Hooters in Chambana every once in a while. I have gone a few times. Fun stuff. I think we are the closest strip if that is your thing. It's only an 1/8th mile and kinda shitty prep on streetcar nights so I might start travelling to Terre Haute

I'd like to hit the track maybe once or twice in the spring and fall only but that's about it. I'm more into the local cruise/hangout spots and enjoying the car on the street actually. If i go to the track, i would probably either go to Joliet or Rt 41. I truly hope there's more than just the 2 of us in the Champaign area!! LOL

I know there is atleast one show I always try to come up there for. Its a car show for MDA put on by one of the members here. I will have to get some info up for ya. I know they are starting a new Pinks style racing series at the Coles county and terre haute drag strips that I plan on taking part in once I get the car back together.

If you guys dont want to go all the way to chicago for a tune there is a guy that has a shop in springfield that does full dyno and street tunes. I drove up there when I did headers and intake swap to get a couple ses lights turned off.
He gave me a tour of his shop, and his pricing isnt to bad either for dyno pulls. $300 hr for 3 pulls and full dyno tune.

I lived about 10 mile east of Urbana, but I moved down to Carbondale for school. I usually spend summer there, but this year I have an internship in Detroit. I have never had luck finding an lsx crowd in Champaign. I have found a better lsx crowd in Carbondale. They are all from Chicago and StL, and talk about the crowds there. I wish we had the same crowd, but I have never found it
Parkland College's auto program puts on a decent (for Champaign at least) car show it on May 7th this year. Not a lot of ls stuff in the past. I should be in Champaign that weekend, so I'm hoping to go.
