It's tough ain't it?

Here's an update on the M6 from the guy that's rebuilding it:

Update:
Ok, so I broke down all the way to the lower gears(have to press off), has this transmission ever been opened before? The reason I ask is, the dog rings that hold the sliders in place, are not where they should be. It looks like someone might have put them in the wrong location??? This is most likely why it was locked into gear. There are also broken shift pads, which would cause it shift rough/grind. I'll try and get some pics tomorrow to let you see what exactly I'm referring to. The new setup will be a world of difference. The sliders in you transmission right now appear to be worn, The stock slider keys in 3/4 are still there which is very surprising as they are usually the first thing to go. You do still have the aluminum shift fork, so the new one will take out any grinding in 4th gear. If it wasn't already grinding in 3/4 it's usually a matter of time. Overall it's not really in too bad of shape. Also, when I call I'm going to order a set of snap rings, it's one thing I refuse to rebuilds without. Simply because when taking them off and back on they tend to stretch very, very bad. If you don't want to spend the extra 30.00, I'll eat the cost. It's something I should have mentioned, and just forgot to add. Even when I do inspections for people, I add the cost to the bill, mainly because it's easy for a sloppy ring to pop off and wreak havoc, then I'm to blame. Anyways if you have any questions give me a shout man.

So does this mean you are done with the track all together? Sounds like it is coming along pretty good. Who again did you say you took your tranny to?

Why do you ask if I'm done with the track? Carl Owens from Glascow, KY is doing the rebuild.

What do you have for an LS1 mike? Falcon's buddy is going to buy this Metallic Orange 02 SS Camaro. **** looks AWSOME.

They guy wanted to trade me car for car +2gs. But I couldn't do it. I feel my car is worth just as much as his.

Not just right at the moment Mike. Just installed the lq9 patriot stage II heads, comp 228/228 571/571 on a 112, new oil pump, double roller chain, 160 thermo, and getting ready to swap in a t56 hopefully next weekend. Just bought a ls7 clutch kit, new slave, pp bolts, and pilot bearing last night from byunspeed, and of course once installed, will need some tuning. I put the kooks headers and y on last winter, hooked up to a borla, along with a set of bmr sfc's, so the "bannana" is beginning to morph into something else now, lol.

Hope all is well with you.....and if you're ever up this way, stop in. I'm always looking for a excuse to open some refreshments .
