i know Fast Times Motorworks in Downers Grove is looking for a machinist. not sure what your qualifications are for, or what you're specifically looking for. they have a guy that's been there for some time, and, things don't look like they're going too well for him. might be the opportunity of a lifetime for someone as they are a class A shop that's responsible for some of the most unbelievable motors you've ever seen!!! they build 6 sec. motors like it's nothing, and have been around since the 50's. there logo can be seen on LOT'S AND LOT'S of the BIG snorkels on hoods. if you're interested, you can reach Graham over there at 847)966-3278. they're not a sponsor, but he visits here sometimes and is a member.

U.S. ARMY aka SOLDIER
You are 100% correct we do have vehicles that he can work on. That would be a the Hummer H2 same one sitting on Golf and Higgins Rd. At the same time we will send him to Diesel Mechanics, plus he can also get A.S.E. Certification at no cost with free job training and BONUS up to $20,000. I have a guy leaving today who have a $6000.00 and had a G.E.D. and one is leaving Thursday with $9000.00, who could have gotten more if he was a U.S. Citizen (Korean).

Look at the bright side he could get the $20,000.00 and buy your 2000 SS Vert and at the same time serve his country proudly, which is above all.....

The Army (or any branch of the US Military) can really help set a foundation for your future or you can make a career (and retire early) out of it. If you don't have a concrete idea of what you want to do with your future, at least look into it.

SSpeedy
Thanks for the support:
I have been in the Army over 15 Yrs, now recruiting in Schaumburg and cannot express the opportunities the Army has given me in my life from getting two degree's for free and traveling all over the world. Yes I will be retiring in the next 4 1/2 yrs after 20 yrs of service and the age of 38.... then again I might just stay until they kick me out.
If you would like to see the programs offered thru the U.S. Army without any commitment. Call Sergeant (SFC) Locket: 847-275-1461.

somewhat related...

i work for the advertising agency that created the 'army of one' campaign.

i literally designed that logo and the look of the campaign after the agency won the account about 4 years ago. i've never been in the army, but i feel like i've somewhat done something cool for my country.

Thank for the design of the Army of One, it look awesome!
A lot of people just do not realize how the military work hand and hand with civilians, contractors, and DoD employee's. The best thing about dealing with all these different people/business you build rapport and connection that pays big dividends for when they retire at 38 yrs old after 20 years of service. Many guys/girsl in college struggle to pay for tuition when they can serve 3 to 4 years and get a free scholarship to any College in the state of Illinois plus received an $1100 tax free check a month, also they have a chance to get an enlistment bonus up to $20,000.00...How I wish I was a high school graduate/18yrs old all over again.
