I wish winter would die.

I just don't see it that way.

I have a driveway big enough that it usually takes about 1 hour to clear when we get about 3-5" with my 8hp 28" blade snowthrower. This snow will probably end up being about 12" in my area, and I'm down to a shovel since my thrower is down at the moment. I'm looking at about 6-8 hours of work to clear this bastard by hand. I find nothing good about that.

But yeah if I had a truck & plow it'd be cool. Hey, anyone want to trade me a nice 2500HD w/ plow for a '96 Bonneville with 37K miles in excellent condition?

I still saw one channel broadcasting a 2-12" range for Chicago a couple hours ago. That 2" was funny, since I've already got about 3"+ on the ground. I don't know if they were taunting us or just being stupid.

It looks like this is going to continue all day. I spent a couple hours out there already and it just keeps getting covered back over. How much longer till spring?

We've had pretty weak winters here in Chicago lately so this is pretty big. Winter of '98-'99 was some heavy snow, and '00-'01 was pretty heavy at first but kinda died off early. Since then it's been so nice and easy, as was December of this season. But looks like that's all changed now. This has probably been the snowiest (is that a word?) January in the last 5 years for Chicagoland.
