Default Route 66 Can i Run there?

I have avoided it, since i have heard that one must be 18, and have ll these little saftey featurs i never had, till now w/ the camaro. I need to know what are the requirements to run a mid-low 10 sec car. Age, Weight reduction, safety etc.

I'm 16 is there any requirements for age? If i can run there it'd greatly benefit me.

BTW I'm running a custom cam setup i'm building it, all to my spec.

I would say age would be your first problem. Your sig isn't worth anything until your 18 in IL.

Bought both of my cars myself. I'm doing the work myself, SLP guy said hes willing to help me tune it...and I am going to a shop that i can Guarantee quality, the best parts at the best price...- If you pay REAL close attention you'd already know what shop that is...(if you caught on...give him a call, and mention my name-he'll tkae real good care of you)

So back to my original question. So @ 16 I am required to have a parent/legal guardian signature each time i participate? Or would I be able to get away with any adult signature?

Now for weight reduction...am i required to have full interior as in, panels on everyththing? Door, dash, carpet etc? or could i get away with maybe just the dash and seats?

Thanks for any help fellas

i'm curious about this too since my car shopuld go high 9s or low 10s this season. if worse comes to worse, just go there and pull some half track passes to get everything dialed in then make one full pass before you get kicked out. I have had good experiances as great lakes and they never seem to have a problem letting me race. im 17 but have always filled out the tech card saying i'm 18. never had any problems. knock on wood.

Hey I am planning on running bottom 7s this year and just turned 15...lol

Sorry, I just had to...

Anyhow, what does a 16 year old do to be able to afford cars like these and mod them? Just curious, I am not knocking them are calling them spoiled or anything. I am just wonderring what opportunities I may have missed as a teen to be able to have those things at that time. And congrats on being able to.

I have actually seen that happen at my HS. Dude drove a modded LT1. Back then LS1 cars were not even at dealers yet.

for my Trans Am, I saved my a** off sine 1997 when they were first being introduced w/ the LS1, and i fell in love instantly. So from that time, threw 8th grade graduation, i had saved nearly all my money, to pay for that car. 16800 and i had 14000 of my own htat i had been able to save. My grandmother gave me an additional 2000 from my grandpas death as she did with the other grandchildren. Over the next 2 years (Freshman year and part of Sophomore) i was able to save 3000 and afford modifications for the T/A. For the rest of my sophomore year and summer iw as able to save up the moeny to do a transmission/rear end swap in the trans am from A4-M6. I was unable to get the swap done due to my mother saying that i would "Ruin the car" so she suggested i buy a car to beat on w/ a manual. This is the money i used to buy my camaro, and i have been working believe it or not at White Castle to pay for modifications. I have been able to come up w/ over 2000 to restore this motors entire valve train, all gaskets and seals. and build it up. All it needs is a inatke manifold and a few more boltons for engien work. The rest lies within the rear and suspension whihc will come later. Within that 2000 i was able to score a TEXtralia OZ700 SB clutch kit as well.

Well good work saving the money. Money always burns a hole in my pocket. I can't save for nothing. In fact I usually spend money before I have it. So much props to those who are able to do so. Sounds like you got real good deals on these cars too. That helps. I bought mine new and got a good deal, but could have saved much more had I bought one used.
