O’reilly Auto Parts To Sponsor Tuesday Night Street Legal Drag Racing At Irp
O’Reilly Auto Parts has agreed to sponsor the long-standing Tuesday Night Street Legal Series for the 2006 season, it was announced today.
“O’ Reilly is the perfect partner for the street legal series,” said Ron Anderson, general manager of Indianapolis Raceway Park. “Many of the participants in the O’Reilly Tuesday Night Street Legal Series are constantly looking to work on their cars and buy the high quality parts that O’Reilly Auto Parts stores carry.”
The O’Reilly Tuesday Night Street Legal Series is a great way for the general public to get a taste of drag racing in their personal cars. On Tuesday nights competitors can bring their street legal vehicles and test out their equipment on the quarter mile in a safe and controlled environment.
“O’Reilly Auto Parts is extremely happy about our new opportunities with IRP and the Indianapolis community. IRP has a long standing history in motorsports and O’Reilly Auto Parts has same in auto parts, we believe this makes a perfect partnership,” stated Kevin Greven, motorsports marketing manager. “We are excited about the opportunities that we see in the Indianapolis area and our ability to add many new O’Reilly Auto Parts stores, many new team members and many new customers.”
O’Reilly Automotive Inc. is one of the largest specialty retailers of automotive aftermarket parts, tools, supplies, equipment and accessories in the United States, serving both the do-it-yourself and professional installer markets. Founded in 1957 by the O’Reilly family, the Company operated 1,432 stores within the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming as of September 30, 2005.
This program is held every Tuesday evening starting on March 28th through August 15th and returns on September 12th until October 30th. Also during the summer three Midnight Madness events will take place-featuring car shows, stereo sound off competitions and more. Street legal cars, trucks, motorcycles and vans are welcome to participate as long as they can be driven legally on the streets. All competitors must also have a valid driver’s license. Racers 16 and 17 years old need to have a legal guardian sign a waiver release before they can compete. Cost to race is $15.00 and $7.00 for spectators.

How about one of the Friday night "Midnight Madness" events, and then have the following Tuesday as the "rain date"?
Midnight Madness dates (revised since first schedule was released):
April 28
June 16
July 21
The track is open on the following Tuesday after each of those dates too.
Any thoughts?

Not everyone (speaking for myself) wants to pay Thursday night prices. I'm a starving artist.![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
