Default I-80 Police

Me and a couple freinds are about to make a trip out west to colorado here in a couple weeks. I was just wondering if any of you out there could give us the heads up on what to expect driving I-80. Is this heavily patroled, tons of tolls or anything else? We just dont want any huge suprises when we get out there.

Thanks

If I need to get there in a hurry, I let my wife drive. She's always on the way to a fire, besides I don't need the ticket!! It's not too bad in Iowa. 80 mph is not going to draw too much attention. Watch out for the weather thou. It can get pretty crazy when the winds get to blowing snow across the open country.

I went from MN to denver and I was no less than 80 the whole way, hit around 100mph on the way through neb and colorado
got nailed on the return trip, watch out for a white B4C, he's out there.

got tagged at 97 in 75... so they are out there, and Iowa is more strict, and the ticket in Colorado was cheap... like $55?

Between the Il border and Des Moines you may see a few cops. Keep at or under 80 and they won;t even look. From Des Moines to Omaha there ain't nuttin but cows and pigs. 85 is OK. the speed limit in NE is 75. We run around 85 but I only go as far a Lincoln. After that I can't say. I do that route a few times a month for work.

Watch the weather. Lots of black ice today on 80. Wind is bad as well.

Sent from the best western in Davenport. Home tomorrow Yeah!

Traveling thruogh Nebraska, I would highly recommend nothing more than 79 where the interstate speed limit is at 75mph.
You can get away with 79 all day long. But if you push it, you'll find hefty fines if ya get caught. It won't be $55.

Heavily patrolled all the way from the Iowa border to just past the Lincoln area. Then just an occasional patrol from there to I-76 down towards Denver. But they'll also have the drug dogs out in force too. And anytime a speeder from out of state is stopped, you can almost gaurantee a drug dog on the scene.

They also patrol the construction zones. So be careful of the speed zones there too. Very hefty fines.

90ish huh? Can't wait to hear the stories about the traffic stops when ya get back, ...
