My 10 MO minpin/west highland needs surgery for avascular necrosis of the femoral head (hip bone is deteriating). I have only received one quote so far for $2,200 per hip and she needs both. This is a cost we just can not afford. I am still looking and hope to reduce this by half. I don't need a board certified surgeon, just a vet that has done these with success. She has so much personality and energy and she is part of the family. Putting her down is not an option I will take. Any help is appreciated.
TIA

DO NOT TAKE HER TO ANIMAL CARE CENTER IN PLAINFIELD!!! I can not stress that enough. My ex-fiance took my dog Murphy there, without my consent, for a neuter, and they ended up giving him too much anestesia. They were able to bring him back to, but he had severe brain damage and we had to put him asleep. He was only 3 1/2 months old. I was so broke up about it that I broke up with her shortly before we were supposed to get married. That's how much I loved him. I recommend New Lenox Animal Clinic. They are a small, home town type of hospital. They will work with you on the price.

Not sure where your located??? But try Morris Animal clinic, a lady at work goes there and says they're very good, inexpensive and honest. Could also try Illinois State University in Champaign, they have a veterinary school and might offer something????? Good Luck to you!!!!

Ok, here we go on the info. I am almost positive it is call ABC vet clinic. here is the number (630) 916-1600, tell the person that you talk to that Dawn Parison (my fiance's mother) referred you to them. You should get a break on the price.
Best of luck

Someone mentioned ISU earlier...A buddy of mine took his lab there to have his hips fixed. Can't remember what it's called...Hip Displaysia or something like that. He lived another 10 years with great mobility and no problems.
