Default I got screwed on this...someone has to be able to help!

Hey everyone. I just recently bought a cam that had 'maybe' 2000 miles, thinking it'd be a nice complement to the rest of my mods. I pull it out of the box and what do I see? Newspaper stuck all over it. Not too much of an issue...but then I get a towel to clean it off, and once the newpaper comes off, so does the shiny part of the cam....its down to black. I can't run this....the guy I bought it from won't believe me and hasn't responded to the PM with pics that I sent him. Here's what i got:

Someone's got to be able to help. All I want is my money back, he can have the cam back, and it'll be done.

If you bought it from a member here take it to the member feedback forum.. Or ask a mod to kindly move it for you https://ls1tech.com/forums/negative-trader-feedback-48/ That sucks and I hope everything gets worked out its painful to see people get ripped off by scams online.

Nate

Edit I sent Unit a message for you.

Post Edit: If you have pics of the cam and any evidence to support your case post it also.

I realized how little I owe and how much I've put into it. I'm keeping it. I got more tricks up my sleeve.

How did you pay for the cam? If you paid via PayPal I'd put in a claim to them...

Paypal won't do anything. If you got the part, that's all they're concerned with...not necessarily the condition of the part. Happened to someone else very recently.
I'll bet the mods here will take care of you.

Is it ground down or just discoloured? Did you have a pro check it out?

It's ground down or corroded....you can feel the tiny little height difference and everything. The texture is different too....it's definitely not just discoloration.

You're addicted to rageahol also?

Looks to me like pits from rust that someone tried to clean up. I would take it to a machine shop and get their oppinion to use in your case against the person that sold it to you..

Actually I have had claims on Paypal that got my money back because it wasn't as described. It is worth a shot, Paypal stuff is really hit or miss.....

Is it just the surface or can you run your fingernail over it and feel it like its a chip?
You might be able to just put it on a lathe and polish it off if its not bad.

It's like a chip...you can feel it. I don't want to take any chances. Tony, you know what I've been through with this ride, man...haha. I'm not going to take a chance like that now.
