Volunteer crew members needed for local dragracing team.
Looking for local drag race fans to attend drag racing events as members of my team.
Mostly Top Sportsman & quick 8 events. Possible car shows, and sponsor events.
Will have between 10-15 events scheduled.
Can train any interested parties, who are serious about racing or
working on a professional crew in the future.
Looking for help at the track, shop or both, very flexible opportunity to learn from an operating race team. Rotating events for people unable to attend entire schedule. Racers welcome, bring your car when possible.
Shop is in the New Lenox, area, transportation is provided to and from the races if needed. Temporary 2007 schedule is posted on web site.
Use of shop & equipment between scheduled events possible.
Contact through E-mail if interested jbl@jblandsondragracing.com
Thanks.

I'll try to answer some of the questions I've been getting.
Thanks for all the notes guys.
The team.
We run Top Sportsman.
The plan is to run the entire NHRA Div 3 series, and the RT 66 T/S series.
I would like to run some other quick 8 or special events in the area.
I would like to race at each track at least once.
Obviously we are always looking for sponsors.
They like attention, so we may do some car shows, or store events.
Crew members.
You can pretty much make your own schedule.
If we are doing something I will let everyone know.
When an engine is going in or some new parts come in, or we change something, wiring, plumping ect.
I will send everyone a note. Then who ever wants to come over can.
Some of the guys writing me know nothing about racing, some don't know how to install an engine or trans ect.
They just want to learn, some have done it 50 times and it's no big deal.
I only ask that if you say you are coming to the shop that night or the track that race, you show up. You can come out 1 time or 20. Shop or track.
I will try to juggle the best I can so everyone gets to do what they want.
When there's room in the rig, I have no problem driving everyone that wants to come.
Some guys have said they don't want to go to the track, they just want to come to the shop and work on the cars. Some guys want to get a break from their wife & kids. They just need a W/E get away.
Like I keep saying, we are just trying to make new friends that want to go racing.
I was hoping to find some new friends in the area, so when schedules conflict,
we can have at least 3-4 guys with us when we race.
Hopefully after new years we will start playing with stuff. New wiring, fuel system ect.
Some of the guys are planning to bring their cars, and we will all park together and help each other.
My trailer has just about everything, A/C, heat, generator, air compressor, BBQ, canopy ect ect.
We are working on a new bigger trailer, so we should be set up to take care of several cars and crew.
Around the shop.
The shop is near RT 66, the new shop will be N. W. of Minooka.
It will not be ready until next summer.
The shop is 42' X 72'. We have a blast cabinet, sand blaster, welder, engine lift, trans jack, most bench tools, and hand tools coming out my ears.
We do everything from installing engines, trans, fixing stuff ect.
We work on the trucks, trailers, equipment ect.
My crew chief lives an hour south, so I do most of the shop stuff myself.
Mostly just looking for new friends & extra hands to help race the car.
I also have no problems with the guys bringing their toys over when we have time.
At the track.
We need help towing up & back for pass's, packing chutes, taking the body off, fuel, tires ect.
I like to have someone at the starting line to help line up in the grove, with leaks, if the other guy breaks ect
I like to have video's & pictures, checking the weather station, keeping notes & records ect.
We will train you to do what you can or want to learn. It's not that hard,
if anything major happens, we pack up and go home.
Again thanks for all the notes guys.
I still plan to have a meet & greet after the new year,
so everyone can come out and see the car.
Any ?? ask away. If interested, drop me a note.

Open house will probably be the w/e of jan 20-21 or 27-28.
We leave for vegas on the 28th and I would like everyone
interested to see the car before we leave.
Thanks for all the notes.

Everyone please be safe and have fun with your families.
Remember, if you get a ford, just smile and trade it in for a GM product on Tues.
