Ill know more later.

If they do, it's due to **** poor management.
Yeah, let's can one of the NHRA events.
Yeah, let's only let the big dollar cars run on Test & Tune nights.
Yeah, let's shut down T&T after everybody has been waiting in staging for 2 hours.
Brilliant!
If they addressed their serious management problems, those numbnutz could TRIPLE their revenue.

They will never shut down a 45 million dollar track. I know for a fact, they had the track appraised and it was insured for 45 million.
Yes it is probably the worse track to run at, way too much wasted time.
Tech lines for kids in the same old stock stuff should never take that long.
Track should have been the best ever, the grove is open 3-4 times more days, and they seem to make money. Why in the hell do they need so many people sitting around doing nothing.
Yes the lights are very very expensive, but last I checked they were the highest priced track to run at. Other tracks have lights, so try staggering them for T & T, you don't need as much lite, like you would with a Nationals. I get tired of hearing the lites are expensive.
There is no way in hell that track shouldn't be open every w/e for racing. Close for the Div & Nationals, like everyone else, but every other track if you show up on a w/e it's open. There is no way that with 9 million people in Chicago area, that they can't get a big points series going for every class.
One more thing, don't think that we don't get pissed off also. We sit in line getting mad also, we see the same bike or car run 2-3 times before we make 1 pass. It might look like we are getting the run of the place, but it takes over an hour sometimes to get car ready to make a pass. We have to take nose off to refuel, cool trans/clutch, download recorder, make changes, switch bottles, tow up, tow back ect. I personally still think they should have a schedule for us. Like the Pro-Style cars only get 1 pass at the top of each hour, if you're not ready, too bad, you wait. Fill in the rest of time with the bracket & street cars. I have been told that they like to keep the Pro Guys running, because the fans come to watch them, not 50 stock mustangs over & over.
Damn, rambled on again, sorry guys. I will call the track manager today, and see if he will tell me anything.

Yeah I love paying $40 to make one pass, sit in the staging lanes for HOURS, and have them bitch about how my stock internal LS1 running low 11s needs a cage. Granted NHRA rules are NHRA rules, but c'mon. I live less than three miles away from Route 66, and I still drive 65 miles one way to U.S. 41 to do test & tune. **** them & I hope they do close. I know my boys who sold the land made their money & are prolly happy as a hog in **** about it closing.
EDIT: Also, if they are saying they only make money on concerts, that is bullshit. They made back the cost of the place in the first weekend of Nationals. There must be some other reasoning behind it.

The track manager just called, the schedule is done, they are still selling sponsorships, so they will not release for printing yet. He said it's almost the exact same as last year.
He also said VFN is not a big sponsor.
Get a magazine ready for waiting in the staging lanes.

Well alls I know was back in the day that track was built to make money for the Nascar track, which was their main goal and once it was complete they would gradually shut down. Just like 2 years ago when they tried to stop Test and Tune Completely but got warned by NHRA for it.
So now I hear that its closing because they are breaking even, which Im sure they dont want to do, weeks before DA Grove announces they will become a NHRA sanctioned track...hmmmm.....It was also said that the dragstrip would be a nice little landing strip for all the nascar rich fellas.

we are in the points at 66 in super-pro
one of the main reasons we don't go to t&t is cause last time we went we got ONE run in 6 hours. My dad normally races it but i have my license for it (i got it when i turned 16 last year...)
Maybe some of you realize but the track only had 7 races last year i believe...
We hate the people that work there, but its 15 mins from our house.
