Default speed inc??

I was wondering if anyone has done any business with them, im interested in gettin some gears for christmas and im tryin to figure out the cost to get them installed, i emailed som1 there but have gotten no response, so if anyone has gotten gears installed there or have done any other business there to let me know if they're a good shop
im looking at the thunder racing gear package w/ gears, install kit, fluids and diff cover, so i was wondering if by having some of these things would cause the install to be cheaper?

I bought a intake and TB from them and service was good. Larry has always answered any of my questions that i have had. I am planning on going this winter to have them tune my car as well.

I've used them for five years, and they are solid. I'd email larry@ls1speed.com for a prompt response. He's the manager there and he's very responsive.

Yes they must have missed your email or something. Larry and Tom have ALWAYS responded to my emails. I just sent them one yesterday about the cost of a cam swap and Larry emailed back with the price and a completely break down of all the costs and everything even including sales tax. Trust me, you won't regret buying from them or having them do your work.

I guess I will be the only negative feedback about Speed inc.

I used to buy all my parts from them when Mike Lajoya worked for them, since he left I feel the sales PEOPLE side of the business is not up to par.

I have had many poor transactions with there sales guys that Tom Izzo the owner had to clean up. Larry and Tom are both great guys, and if you going to do business with them, talk to them directly! stay away from the sales guys/IT guy.

Both the sales guys and IT guy told me they didnt have parts in stock and could NOT get parts as quickly as I needed them. So I hung up and called back, I spoke with Tom directly who stated yes I have the parts in stock if you need them urgently and I can order the rest for you, they will be here next day. The other two fools said it would be 10days before parts arrived.

the story is longer but I wont bash a company. If you do deal with them, talk only with tom or larry.

or do as I've done switch to Outlaw hp. Tony has helped out alot.

just remember all shops have positive and negative feedback, you can not make everyone happy! Speed inc is a good shop, but again I feel there sales people have suffered.

1995z28camaro : I do all the quotes....please email if you need any prices.

ibanez7 : thanks for the info....sorry to hear of the issues you had and that you have decided to go elsewhere. We would be glad to help if you ever need anything else. I guess take your advice and talk with Tom or I.

everyone else : thanks for the good feedback

Yes.....Speed, Inc. rocks my face off. They accidently sent me a cam bolt kit instead of a pressure plate bolt kit. I called them and told them and they sent me out a pressure plate bolt kit immediately and let me keep the cam bolt kit (given it only costs like 6 bucks, but still). They're AWESOME.

Good shop...I've mail ordered several items from them. For my gear install, I had the 3.73 Motive Gears, T/A Cover & gear lube already purchased. I drove up and had Finish Line Performance install mine. The install price was $400.00 back in April '05. I just sat and waited for the car, and after about 6 hours (if I remember correctly) it was done and I was on my way home.

Jason

Possibly their was a misunderstanding, if something has to be ordered directly from any given manufacture typically 5-10 business days, at that point we offer alternatives.

If this was in reguards to the Centerforce clutch? Sorry I did make a mistake in the payment. Centerforce clutches I obtain the following business day, anyway; so i'm confident I didn't tell you it would take 10 days to source a clutch for you.

IIRC you needed a clutch alignment tool too, I told you where to find one local, and in doubt, said i'd be around the shop late that day in case you needed one.

Sorry you feel that way, or for any of your inconveniences. The only people who make NO mistakes are people who do nothing at all.

Without a doubt, we try our best for local or mail order customer. IF somebody orders parts upto 5pm provided the part(s) are on the shelf here; i'll slap a label on it get it on the truck, or if ups already picked up i'll track down a UPS driver on my way home, parts arrive asap

Each and every time I've emailed Larry he gets back to me within a few hours. Calling is not the best way though, just email him directly IMO. He has even suggested that himself in the past and guess what, he has always kept his word and resolved any issues.

I've been a customer there since 2001 and probably always will be.

All my mods (with the exception of some simple suspension installs) have been done at Speed inc.
