It would be nice to be off, but at least I get paid with the ability to be on here all day. LS1TECH entertainment FTW!

I hear you, I wish I could get some time off. I wish I could get paid vacations, weekend's off, and all that good stuff other people get.
The only two holiday's I get off are Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's not a paid day either. It's just one of my two day's off for the work. I have Wednesday off and then Christmas day off. Don't know when I'll get another day off after that.

I can't actually remember the last time that I wanted to go to work. Thank God I haven't gone to school in years though, only thing worse than work is school.

Year end/quarter end/month end is always very busy in my line of work. This year we're adding fuel to the fire by completing full relocation of a competitor’s inventory by 12/29 due to a recent acquisition, in addition to regular year-end business. Nice that they decided to do this right now pushing the stress right to the breaking point. Can't wait till December is over.

I get about 5 weeks of vacation time per year. I haven't been able to use any of it for months though.

i got the whole month off... been working consistant 60-70 hour weeks for the past year in a very brain-demanding job. (demanding for me at least)

i started out being pretty productive, worked on the car and researched a bunch about the mods i'm going to do to it this winter and ordered some parts, put together a couple rc cars, cleaned up the house, went to the dentist, got a haircut, yadda yadda.

now into the 3rd week i'm sleeping in 'till noon, sitting on my *** bored as hell wasting days just reading garbage on the internet and stayin up till like 4am... kinda dissapointed in myself to be honest. i coulda done alot of things instead of post on the internet.

but yea, its pretty sweet to have a decent break for a change. first time in over 8 years that i've had more than a week of vacation at a time.

work is part of life and living, but i think alot of us simply work too much.

No **** man, sounds like my life. 50-60 hour weeks all too often, plus a long *** 37 mile commute each way. I barely have a life outside of work these days.

I haven't had a full week off since January of 2001. Actually the longest break I seem to get every year is 4 days off over the Thanksgiving weekend. Oh wait, I did take a Thursday and Friday off this last summer when my house flooded. Had to clean up the mess. What a vacation.

We have a week shutdown next week. Paid too. I only get 2 weeks paid vaca. and one week personal. But soon another week vaca. So I guess at that point I will have 5 weeks off a year. Not bad I guess. Too bad I can only take them 2 weeks at a time. I sometimes take a day off for myself and I get board. I need to do stuff. Too cold this time of year to mod the car. Lots to do though so I have to get a heater or something.

That sucks man. Sounds like you need to demand some time off or seek work elsewhere.

Well it's not quite as bad as it sounds. I get 5 weeks of vacation time per year that I break up into a lot of 3 day weekends over the spring/summer/fall. Just that the last couple of years I've had to cancel many of my 3-day weekends as well due to workload demands.

When things were slower back in '03-'04, you'd hardly ever see me work more than a 4 day week all summer. I'd take almost every Friday off. That 3 day weekend routine does have it's advantages.

But seriously, I need an extended break. Soon.

I have thought about doing the 3 day weekends vs. longer breaks. Maybe every other year or something.
