Big GTG in May Ok guys I really want to have a large GTG in early May. I have a lot of people intrested from different sites.
So I'm really just looking for any idea's and help you guys can provide.
Basicly what would you like to do and see?
I'm willing to put up some money to rent out a location but I'd just like to see what everyone else would like to see.
The location will be basicly on the WI/IL border close to Lake Michagin. The reason for this is so people from Milwaukee and Chicago can come. The Chicago guys have all the speed shops around them with open houses and all the GTG's right around them so we need to do something for the WI guys that don't have any of that.
If you live in this area and know of a good place to have it let me know and if possible a website/phone number as well so I could rent the location.
I will be there with my digital SLR camara so if we can get some good shots of a lot of cars lined up I'll turn them into posters people can buy.

Sounds like fun.
I'd like to go, but it all depends on what day, and more importantly the weather. If the weather is iffy I'd still like to come but not with the Camaro.....

I'm down for this! Depending on the day. I would assume it would be a Sat night? If so I can probably vouch for 2 other F-Bodies besides mine.

Don't worry, I'll keep everyone updated. Once everything is worked out I'll start a new thread but post a link to it in here.
I'm going to continue to contact different places trying to find out if we can rent out their large parking lots or finding a good park we can rent.

Maybe we can meet up before that earlier in the day and then all head over there together?
Or maybe we can see about letting us in a couple hours earlier so we can hang out before the racing.
I'd be willing to bring my camcorder and then edit and host the video from it.
I'll contact GLD and see what they say.

www.tristateraceway.com did you want a drag strip? if so check out tri state race way in earlville Iowa it is a nice 1/4 mile track, big parking lot, they do test and tune on Saturdays and it kinda a central location between WI and IL check it out on map quest

If you want to set up a track event that's cool, but if you want to organize a car show, the best times for a big turnout will be Friday night, Saturday night, or Sunday afternoon.

I don't think a show-n-go is too great of an idea, especially on a Thurs night.
Slick night for racing, Sat night for show!!

Yeah I'm thinking a Saturday would work best. Start at like 2:00, so it's not early in the morning but there'll be plenty of sunlight left for a nice show.

I know you can rent miller parks big parking lot where they auto x i remember hearing that when i went to race. I'de be for a huge meet. and i'll have my headers in with in the month so... i'm cool just gata know when so i can have off work
