Default Everyone OK After MN Bridge Collapse?

Just heard about the bridge tragedy in MN and I am shocked to say the least. Just hope all of you Midwestern members are O.K. and Keep us all posted as to what is going on. I am an engineer, and I will say that this is VERY uncommon for modern U.S. interstate bridges. I am from Pittsburgh, which has more bridges than any other U.S. City, so I can understand how scary this must be. Our thoughts and prayers to all those folks affected by the accident and involved in the rescue effort.

I agree. Does anyone know how many ended in the river? Last I heard was 6 dead, which judging by the pictures, there really could be a lot more.

Over at http://www.cnn.com/ they have a video of the bridge going down. It was taken from a security camera and is pretty wild.

That is insane! I saw that video and was wondering how they got that, but a security camera does make sense.

One of the worst parts (outside of any deaths or injuries) is that the bridge was deemed structurally deficient and in need of repair in 1990.

Hope everyone is alright.

This pisses me off because there are reports of the bridge being inspected recently. Every time I come across some college punk doing drugs and drinking all through college I think about shet like this. Memo to the before mentioned taking engineering classes: put the bud and the bud light down, peoples lives are in your hands assho'.....RANT OVA! Condolences to the family of the lost.
