looked and sounded good to me. you and unstang are both right. On wed, Bennigan's is the best night for cars and on sat, porky's is the best night for cars. I think its better that way, less competition with cruise nights. I think last wed Bennigan"s had over 100 cars. Porky's had clsoe to that on sat. The only diff is bennigan's fills up faster (get there by 6 or you'll have no place to park) and empties the lot faster. imo.

Anyone going up to that cruise/car show in clear lake this weekend? I've never been but i"ve heard it's a good time. Burnouts and such all around the lake when the cruise starts.

Got your message, didn't have a chance to call you back. I wouldn't bother trying to find someone local, last I knew nobody had the proper tools to do an LS motor any way. 383 stroker is not the way I'd go either, If you want to keep a stock block, Id save the $ that a stroker will cost & just do a forged 347. If you want to go more cubes, you need an iron block, IMO. There are penty of places you can order a short block from & you'll be ready to go.

Chuck I would think any reputable shop could clearance the block and cleanup the cylinder bores for a stroker kit. Ed has a 382 stroker in his Z06. I don't have his username handy (Darkhalf might), but I'm sure he'd be willing to let you know where he got his motor work done. If you want a bigger bore and to stay aluminum (saving the extra 100lbs is nice) I'd buy a shortblock and convert over to a stroker LS3. $4-5k will net you a 416 cube shortblock. You'll need to extend the knock sensor harness, extend the cam position sensor, specify the correct crank reluctor and do some minor block work for any clearancing.
