Don't know who they are, the guys who body kit their cars up are usually in a different crowd than the serious owners. I like to keep my cars stock with maybe a front lip on them if you're feeling adventurous and put money into the engine. Out of all my years spent in Ames I saw the black one but never the yellow. Only way to find out if it's turbo is listen.

i prefer out the top rodney lol. i know its slower but this way i can check things over while im tearing into her. like i found out that the intake manifold bolts were barely tight, the oil pressure gauge had the wire ripped out,the injectors were in not so good shape, blah blah blah the list continues. anyways all i have left is to pull the motor mounts and disconnect the tranny and she is on her way out.

Well at least we have this much straight: Rodney likes it on the bottom and Dave likes it on top.

Seriously sorry to hear about the motor Dave. Hope it's an easy fix.

got the motor torn apart. #6 connecting rod bearing failed on me. scuffed up the connecting rod a bit and looked like it might have gotten the crank but it was hard to tell could just have been bearing that got melted to it. the cylinder walls looked good but going to take the block into the machine shop and have them do a once over on it just to make sure.

oh if the crank is bad and needs milled down im just going to cut my losses and put the rotating assembly up for sale. im sure someone could use a forged bottom end that would just need a connecting rod and to mill the crank. think ill take the motor .040 over and make a 385 out of it now

If you need a crank I know a guy tha has a brand new 383 stroker crank that he wants to sell. I also know of another guy that probably has a good used stock crank also. I assume this is an LT1?

Dave Spaulding's SS is one sweet ride. The mods. were done by Doug Rippie Motorsports of Buffalo, MN (about 30 or so miles west of the twin cities)

He dyno'd 475+ hp at the crank and 403 rwhp on Rippie's dyno-jet.

If anyone is interested, my home town of North English is having its Fun Days this weekend. There will be a car show on Main Street from Noon to 3pm today (Saturday July 25th). I won't have my LSx Car there, but instead my 1979 Formula, but thats beside the point. Anyways, if you have nothing better to do on a Saturday afternoon, come drink some beer and check out some cool rides in good ol' small town Iowa.

What night's at Porky's are the hang out nights. Or just when people set something up.

Seems like the place to go on Wednesdays is Bennigan's on Merle Hay, good turnout the last several weeks.

I haven't been out to Porky's Pub for a little, it was disappointing when I did.

It's been like that the past couple weekends.
