Well there's a couple things that made my setup sluggish below 3000rpm. The first is if the VE tune is overly rich. The PCM uses a mix of the VE table and MAF below 3000rpm. So if the MAF is dialed in, but the VE is rich it will be sluggish. The second was the ported factory castings I was running. Ported factory castings can match the flow numbers of the aftermarket heads, but with the larger ports they use to accomplish these numbers the port velocity drops dramatically. Which again leads to sluggish low end performance. The first thing I noticed switching to the TFS heads was the immediate increase in low end response and the improvement in driveability. At the track with the old heads I was constantly fighting to get enough RPM to get the car to launch hard (get the air velocity up) without blowing off the tires.

Update: From dead idle, 1200, & 1500 rpms my converter flashes to 2500 not 3600 or 3800 according to Vig.......
RPM wrote me back and said the my converter should be 3200 on motor and 3600 on N20..........not cool - it was supposed to be 3600 period - either way the damn thing doesn't even flash to 3200 like they said either.
Anyone want to go over to Cordova's Midnight mania thing this coming weekend? I hope to run some 1/4 mile stuff before Sept 11 Cedar falls midnight race.
Update: From dead idle, 1200, & 1500 rpms my converter flashes to 2500 not 3600 or 3800 according to Vig.......
RPM wrote me back and said the my converter should be 3200 on motor and 3600 on N20..........not cool - it was supposed to be 3600 period - either way the damn thing doesn't even flash to 3200 like they said either.
Anyone want to go over to Cordova's Midnight mania thing this coming weekend? I hope to run some 1/4 mile stuff before Sept 11 Cedar falls midnight race.

Unstang your killing me showing me that video lol - I talked w/ Jack at Vig yesterday, he wants me to take the converter out and send it in to see if it's really stalling at 3600. If it is then something else is wrong, if its not then obviously we know what needs to be fixed.
Only problem is, its such a wonderful time removing the drivetrain in my car...... so i think i'll drive it and have fun w/ the car the rest of the race season then take it all apart......again, this will be #5

Well guys, im pretty excited. this winter a few buddies of mine i've met down here and a Nice LSX LTX shop Outlaw racing. im going to do a forced induction build, hopefully a decent size front mount. it kinda sucks because now im going back the route i fought so hard to get away from with the gears and long tubes and x-pipe.

anyone going to the Madrid Labor Day car show??? ill be there, not sure if ill enter my car or not, i know i dont have a chance in hell of winning but its still fun to go. hope to see some of you guys there!!

I'll be there. I too have a snowball's chance in hell at winning. A stock blue rustang GT and some rice beat me last year. Funny how they all looked at me when it was time to leave.
