yeah i know
its not that fact it that it will be a fair race, its the fact that the wedsday we had our first get together i was driving my buddies formula and I stopped at a gas station to get something to eat and when i came back out he was driving by at like 2 mph then stared at me and did a burnout...Stuff like that bothers me...
oh and you can call me Emry, or Austin what ever you can remember

Since Omaha is a short trip for us, I thought I'd give you guys some feedback in my experience at C&S Motorsports yesterday.
Tom Van Vugt is the main tech there and he is a class act who definitely knows his stuff. Did the work at the right speed, didn't charge me for time he wasn't working on the car and did a fantastic job. Had the tranny and rear-end fluids replaced w/ Royal Purple, car shifts alot better and the common Corvette "rear-end rattle" is gone.
Dropped the car all the way on the stock bolts in the front and all the way in the back plus remove a section of the rear bushing. Looks great, probably dropped an inch all around.
Now the good stuff. Main reason for taking it there was to have the car re-tuned. I had the mod work done and the car tuned when it only had 290 miles on it and it has 17K now so it was time since the engine was broken in.
Here are the results:
Base pull - 341.5 RWHP @ 6000 / 332.1 RWTQ @ 4900
Final pull after the re-tune: 381.2 RWHP @ 6100 / 353.3 RWTQ @ 4800
Difference: + 39.7 RWHP / + 21.2 RWTQ
As the engine broke in, it was taking in more air and running lean and he was seeing alot of knock retard which was killing power. He made some nice adjustments to the timing and I can feel a difference in every gear including 6th.
Big difference in peak power, from 2900-5000, there is only about a 15-20HP difference, before and after. The best difference is in the "meaty" part of the HP curve where you want to see it. Before from 5000-6150, HP would jump from 316-340 (24HP). Now from 5000-6150, it jumps from 333-381 (48HP) and you can feel the difference.
Big difference in the torque band too. Even though the max tq. only increased by 21, I'm seeing a 32 RWTQ increase at 2900 and a 37 RWTQ increase at 6150. Basically, the torque curve is stronger, a little flatter and pulling harder and for a longer period then before. Before from 5000-6150, TQ would drop about 40 lbs., now it only drops about 20 lbs.
Figuring in the loss on the dyno, the motor is putting out 477HP and 442TQ at the flywheel. That's a 77HP and 42TQ increase from stock with nothing but headers, x-pipe, CAI, ported TB and intake and a tune. Pure bolt-ons mods.
Bottom line, I spent about 6 hours there yesterday and couldn't be happier with the results. If you need work done on your cars you should definitely talk to Tom @ C&S.

Alright, anyone from Ames area going down to these get togethers? I have been wanting to, but I dont have my car here, and the bike I would just feel lonely and out of place. My roomate brought his TA up this past weekend, so maybe I can talk him into going. Otherwise I think I will be getting mine the weekend after school is out and have it here for a couple of weeks. Damn gas prices make it a bitch too.
Anyone here know who drives the Black Firehawk in Ames? Saw it for the first time yesterday.
Again, anyone from Ames heading to these GTG I would be interested in hanging out for a night. Have to let me know of leaving times etc. I will aid in gas if need be. Just want to get out and meet some Fbody fans.

lol everyparts store says that, finally i got pissed and took all four of them out and brought them all in, they still told me that there were only 2, i was like then how do you explain the FOUR i took out...uh uh, oh WOW there to different part numbers look at that lol.
I just hate going into parts stores now, because i worked at oriellys for 3 years, and i know what they can and cant get or have. It just drives me nuts when they say they cant get this or that when i know they probably have it in stock.

all 4 of my o2 sensors crapped out at the same time.... I replaced the two but am waiting to replace the other rears. If you go to summit they have them for $49 each... (they DID anyways) I printed it out, took it to Advanced, and they matched it...

They were going to charge me for the shipping, I said that since there was no tax on the internet buy they could charge me the normal price and the tax would come up to what it cost to have them shipped.
