I think we might squeak by with the DSM river not going over the banks, but its going to be extreamly close. By the looks of it we are getting more rain still so it is very possible that the roads of downtown DSM are going to be underwater.

My parents live in Palo, and my mom is staying at our house, dad is trying to hold down the fort. We just got a call from him crying because he cant keep up with the water...... He has put so much time and hard work into the house and basement, he is wrecked over it. Sounds like 80% of palo will be under water and my parents are ruined over it. I havnt had to deal with anything this hard in a long time, its tough guys. I havnt seen my dad cry since he lost his parents. Anyhow, ill keep in touch.

Anyone heard if Highway 20 is closed at all. I know that Cedar Falls / Waterloo area isn't looking to good. The reason I ask is that I have to travel from Dubuque to Des mOines on Friday and I was planning on taking 20.

so tonight me and a friend took a clay bar to my car.... and buffed it. We wont finish up till tomorrow night.
(the guys that touched up my rockers didnt tape off my car... so theres overspray on the WHOLE CAR **including glass) and the pretty much want nothing to do with it.
**** em.
we only finished the front half of the car... but damn she's sexy
then we're taking the Mother's powerball thing to the wheels and exhaust and replacing bank 1 and 2 oxygen sensors....
i will never clay bar overspray ever again. what a pain in the ***.

Really sorry to hear that Rodney. Part of the carpet in my basement got soaked from a plugged drain from one of the earlier storms. It took some time to get it cleaned and dried, but when I hear about situations like your folk's and look at what happened in Parkersburg it's small potatoes.
A person puts a lot of hard work and passion into their home and seeing it get ruined like that can't help but break your heart. Your Dad will come around and get things back in order, it just takes a little time to wrap your head around something like this. Everyone's alive and it can be fixed, that's what matters.
And if you find yourself too busy with all these projects I know that there are a bunch guys on here that would be more than willing to make sure that your car does not get lonely or get too much smoke built up in the tires (you have to let that out every now and then for proper tire care).

I arived at the power tour around 3, pretty decent showing. After that I went to porkys talked to Brian for awhile. I was going to wait for jason to show up but since the storm looked to be rolling in faster then expected i went ahead and left.
Fenton does it look like there will be any races at eddyville next weekend?? I have quite the group rounded up for the 20th I think, just want to make sure the track will be open.

Well guys, i finally got the parents in, dad included. He left today when the water got up to the foundation outside the house. He had to waid through 3 ft of water to get to the end of the street, and his truck. The river continues to rise, and Im pretty sure its damned near a complete loss for my parents. When he left, you couldnt see the fence around the back garage. That means atleast 4 feet of water in the garage, and im thinking if it continues to rise like it is, there will be a full basement, and the first floor will be flooded at there home. Im pretty sure they lost everything, and we wernt able to get any of there belongings out of the house, just moved to the first floor (minus there documents, they are gone). I dont know what to do fellas, hurts seeing my parents so torn up and devastated. I have to stay strong for them, but damnit its hard!!!

355 - don't know if Eddyville will be having races or not. The river shouldn't get near high enough to flood the track, so unless it's raining they SHOULD have them, but I will keep checking and letting everyone know what's going down.
I am assuming you are talking MM, and if so I hope you and some buddies do come down, seeing all those mustangs was depressing.

Rodney, I have been thinking about you and the family the last few days. My girlfriends brother in law ones a few bars and resturants in iowa city and we may have to head out to sandbag some. If there is anything that I can do to help you or the family let me know. Just think, everyone is ok.
