I am working on a C5 at work right now and I found out that the guy that owns it also owns the rookies on 63rd....I wonder if he knows we have been meeting there on wednesdays. I guess he knows my service manager and was asking about doing mods to it. Maybe we can get him to meet up with us and get us some free food/drinks or something

Anyone in Iowa have a D1 or bigger procharged lsx? I remember meeting a guy at Eddyville with a p1 on a c5 vette a year or so ago. I'm curious what the maintenance is like on one that gets driven alot and also how loud they are.

I'm a long way from doing anything. Just doing research now because my next setup will probably be over a year long build up. My main priority right now is getting the 408 back together.

I can speak on his behalf though, you can hear the P1 for sure. Its not like it really sticks out but it does have the slight wine to it at idle especially with a cam like his. Maintenance wise just need to make sure you change the oil inside the blower frequently. But not all the time.
Oh and rinse off your engine bay frequently as those things suck in the dust!!!

Its not super loud, but definatly noticeable. The cam and headers made it louder. I'm the poor guy that installed the system on Mikes car. Maintenance is pretty simple...change the blower oil every other oil change. It sure makes a mess though

I had a D1 on a 302 and loved it. Right now I have a P1 on a ls and wish it was a D1. a D1 flows alot more cfm than a P1. On your car I would Go for the D1 . It would be a monster. Procharger will be in ames on the power tour. If you like I can let you know who to talk too.

Thanks for all the input guys! I'm really looking way into the future on this. Alot of what I do depends on how much work needs to be done to put the 408 back together. If it goes back together cheap I'll stick with what I've got, but if it takes a complete rebuild I might consider another direction like using dished pistons to lower compression. Then down the road I could add some forced induction.

Heading over to the MAM dragstip by Pacific Junction Friday night if anybody is interested in taking their car. I know most people are from central and eastern Iowa in this thread but though I would put the offer out there anyway.
