David, Tommy already sold that car last year. He sold it to another local buddy of ours Zach. I don't think you have ever met him. Managed to pull a 13.5 out of it though. Not to shabby for an untuned car with bolt ons huh!

Ahh ok, a buddy at work was interested in it.

Waiting to run into one of the NDT guys at work to see if they will eddy current my rocker arm to see if its cracked or anything.

I thing it will be a while before I am out with that car.

I hope the lifter is not in the oil pan, I am told there is a hole big enough for it to fall straight down.........

James- im starting to have second thoughts about that whole " going 10's" deal after seeing those videos.. - i know i will miss it, and it wont be the same...

what do you think...? Tranny wont be done till probably wednesday..

If i like it once i get it back together i guess i'll just call and be like " Hey, it is having issues" and keep it.....

 

I'd hate to be the guy with the TT Vette. There's going to be a video collection of him getting beat before we know it, because there's also a video circulating of him getting beat at ORP by a Ford truck with a camper shell on it. I think the truck ran a 11.5 lol

 

I would personally keep your car. Me and George was just talking about that up at my shop. We didn't really want to say what we thought because it's ultimately your decision. Your the 1 who has to decide. But I would keep your car.
And if you need a hand with the Trans. LMK And I'll come up there and help you put it back in!


Benny, The red Ford truck he was beaten by was a DRAG truck And it was on slicks and obviously had gears. If you see the video, you'll see how fast that truck came out of the hole. Needless to say, I have a feeling once the vette gets some gears, Drag Radials or slicks, and a stall; that truck had better have his A game on to beat him. I saw the video and must say it's a beast. BUT It's set up for the strip and not a DD like the vette could be if chosen to.
Either way a loss is a loss, but that was the vette's best time to date and he has more plans pending, but as of now it's the same as last year. It's kinda funny how EVERY Forum you go to there's a post somewhere about the 06 STS TT Vette!

 

Benny- Not trying to dictate what your saying, But yeah that would suck to have ALL the attention he has right now. Everyone is gunning for him, and like they say, "You Can't Beat Everyone". But you sure as hell can try to!

I personally think that if there is a Post that gets started with all of his losses, it's because everyone wants a piece of his vette and since there are so many people gunning for him, it's gonna be hard for him to win EVERY 1 of his races. Considering he's bringing out the "BIG DOG's". I saw him race a Big Block Chevelle and a Grand National, and a Few Bikes. All of which he beat and a few other races in which he has lost. I spoke with him and he says he's content with his car for now, and he's not trying to beat everyone out on the SouthSide....He's just wanting to have a little fun and watch some other people go at it too! That's what it's all about.

Uh, James.. the truck that beat him was the "tow rig". The race truck (the truck the tow rig pulls around) runs very low 9's. Jeff is the owner of both trucks, whom I know.

I'm not really gunning for him, he only run's low 12's and maybe a high 11 on a good day.

 

Well, I was unaware of that! But never the less that TOW-Rig was Bad ***! Wish I had a tow rig like that... LOL

And as far as everyone gunning for him, I say that b/c on alot of other forums there are alot of threads talking about how they want to race him or would like to see him beaten, and whatever else. I wasn't refering to you or anything man! Just to clarify.

The race truck ran a best of 9.3 and is shooting for 8.9 this year. That truck also see the streets on occasion.

From what I keep hearing from various people is that the main reason people want to race the Vette is because the owner is a little.. well.. too confident of his car.

That is just what I keep hearing, so take it for what it's worth.

 

Thats what I hear too! "That he's too confident of his car." But he just likes his car. Hell I have a POS Formula, but I Love my car too! As I'm sure you Love yours too.

But He might throw off that vibe to people, but really it's just fun and games to him.
Like he said to me, How many people do you know that will go out and buy a NEW Vette, Put Forced Induction on it, and then go out and play around with EVERYONE??? Not too many people. But he likes racing and thats why He's out there. Quite frankly I'm tired of everyone talking so much **** about how much of a ******* he is, when we are all out there to have fun, and yet people always wanna start talking **** about him. I'm an ******* at times too! But I don't hear anyone talking **** about me! Maybe it's b/c I don't drive a $50,000.00 TT Vette either though!

Just my .02 though- take it for what it's worth.
To all of the HATERZ, take a # and stand in line....Theres too many people who want to run his ***! If someone thinks they can beat him and wants to do it respectfully, I'm sure he'd have NO Problem running anyone.

Jeff, we have discussed it, and it is certainly your choice. I like having both, but I understand your situation. BOL with your decision.
Benny and James, I don't know either driver or vehicle. But I can comment on the video.
The truck did a good burnout, indicating he had drag radials or slicks. the vette did a burnout like he was running street tires. Advantage - truck.
The truck beat the vette out of the hole. Advantage - truck and most likely driver experience. I think we all know that a good driver with a slower vehicle will almost always beat a lesser driver with a faster vehicle (up to a point, of course).
The vette had a higher trap speed and slower e.t. - was the 124 mph in line with a 11.7 e.t.? IDK, but someone with drag experience must know.
I must admit, with twin turbos, I would have expected very low 11s in a late model vette. And the launch seemed weak, at best. Is traction an issue?
But what do I know, I only drive a lowly LT1.
