This is nick at straightline talking. Class sounds cool just don't like the 8.30 cap on et. There are so many small block cars out there with single power adders and a 28X10.5 non W running mid 7's. Just my opinion they might want to cap the et at 7.50 instead then people won't have to add a ton of weight or detune the car a ton. Otherwise sounds like a fun class.

If the event takes off and gets pretty popular, there's no reason why they can't do a 7.50 index, 8.50, and something slower. I already heard talk of a 10.0 class for this summer which should be PACKED.

The rules are what they are from what I am told... 8.30 is the cap... no "w" tires....
Christ knows I am one of the guys who are going to be shooting 600hp at it to try and get off of the back end of the ladder.... Mind you I didn't make the rule, but I like it....
and there will be a 10.0 and 12.0 class run at the same race.....

Im not crazy about the caps at 8.30 , Or 8.20 at the grove. That just forces people to have 25.5 cages in there cars. With the rules being that its pretty much run what you brung then i would say the cap should be way lower like nick said. Now if you wanna get more car count i would go for a 8.50 cap and then you don't have to worry about the 25.5 thing, But then you might have to put some limits on motors and power adders.

Gotta look at it from this POV: Guys that are faster than 8.30 can detune and still run the class rather easily. But, guys that are going ***** out and in the 8.40s or something can't just crank the boost up and be competitive in a 7.50 class. It levels the playing field for the slower guys and gives more people a chance to compete and win.

Very true.
I was assuming there wouldn't be much worry about needing a 25.5 cage to go that fast at 41. Usually if you have most of your lug nuts and you doubled up the piece of duct tape that's holding the hole shut on your oil-pan(for safety), you can run an 8 second car at 41.
