Street Drags in Assumption ILL. who's going???
Hey guys from the central Illinois area. I found out that there will be drag racing going on in Assumption, IL. There is another thread about this but no one really said if they were attending or not. I am getting back from overseas in the military around mid April, and have been waiting a long time to make some "legal" runs. It would be badass to meet some other LS1Tech members, and have more than just me there with my WS6.
Here is some info on the races:
May 3, 2008
Gates will open at 7 AM. Racing will start around 10AM and last until dusk.

I know brother, that sucks. The only other track near me is Charleston(Coles County), and its also 1/8th. I plan on driving the 2 hours up to Joliet, but there will probably be 500 cars there, and i will only get 2 runs in all night. We could always hit up a bar afterwards

I will definitely try to make it. Anything I can do to help another track get on it's feet is definitely worth it. It may only be 1/8th mi., but from what I understand there's a possibility for to be a 1/4 mi track in the future if they get enough interest.

You are really close man. I live in St. Joseph, near Champaign and its only about a hour and half drive. But from Charleston its pretty much directly west about 40 miles. I have already looked up the schedule for Coles County drag strip, and plan on going......every weekend. How is that track? Can you get a good amount of runs in on the test & tune?

Its Black......Hints the name. Yea it ran a 12.51 on street tires, and at 4500 elevation. I have some 275/50/15 M/T DR's in the mail. Hopefully she can do better than that. We can definitely run a grudge match if you come down. As long as if I loose you give me a few pointers

Yeah shows how much I pay attention some times huh? Not really a grudge match.. Just I think it would be a good run. As for pointers? Eh. Probably not the right person for that. I'm not really a track person. This car was built to kill 90% of the rice that floats around the NW burbs.

not sure about the track. Haven't been down it since I have moved back. They do an Army eliminator series that is kinda like PINKS I guess that I am going to try to get in on sometime. when I ran there back in high school it was decent. a lot of slow junk though. Come on out sometime. if my junk is going we could clip some ricers all night. lol
