Default barret-jackson (newer camaro)

i have been watching a little bit of the barret-jackson on speed, and i saw a 96ss go for only $11,000. but 3rd gens were in the 15,000-17000 range. There saying were going to have to keep our cars another 10 yrs before there a true collector and i agree. any thoughts?

I don't think our cars will ever be "true collectors", unless they are like a Intimidator SS, or Berger car. But an average SS like mine won't ever be, they made too many of them IMO. Maybe in 30 years the ones with super low miles will have some added value.

I've always heard the bottom dollar on cars is usually 20 years old before they start to go up again.

I for one think they all will be collectible, some more than others. Back in 1967-68-69 no one would have consider that those simple cars will worth big money someday. I think we should wait 20 to 30 to see this....BTW Im not waiting! LOL!

it always comes down to supply and demand.

cars are only worth what some one is willing to pay. Back when GM announced that 2002 was the last year for f-bodies, I had car dealers calling me wanting to by mine and offering more then what I paid. It was tempting too.

I dont worry about the value of our f-bods cause yeah when I'm and old dude, the value will be up, however I dont plan on ever selling mine, instead it will just be part of my car collection

Just keep the car and enjoy it for what it is! . Personally I think our F-bodies will be popular in the future when we are all old because just look at the fan base of these cars on this website. The reason the 60-70's car are currently popular is because that generation of people are wanting those cars again.

ssartica4 - Ya I wanna add a 97 30th Z28 to my collection in the future.

I saw that on Speed last night. They were making it seem like 11K was an amazing deal for that car. I like how they referred to the LS1 as "the miracle motor".

I know my car won't be a collector because of all the modifications to it. I do plan on keeping it for thirty years though.

Drive it till the wheels fall off, rebuild, do again.
