Default Need a tuner in Palatine, IL Area

My sister has a 2002 WS6. It is idling very low, and I'm just looking for someone who can bump up the idle. Shouldn't take long at all. Can anyone help? The car has a Lid and a K&N, otherwise stock.

Since someone will probably ask, here's a pic of my sister:

Last time I was in it I think it was down around 500, and it is an A4.

Dude. Being stock, all you should have to do is pull the leads off the battery for a good 15 minutes. Reset the computer. Should be that easy... If not, then there is some other issue.

Yeah thats way to low. Im sure someone local might have a tuner that can bump up the timing or call Speed inc or FLP or straightline...

Maybe someone messed with the throttle body at 1 point? I know there is a small idle screw on it but I would not touch it if its never been touched

I didn't know there was an idle screw on the LS1 throttle body. I'll look into this.

Yeah I would get a few more opinions first since it should not ide that low. The screw we are talking about if your looking at the TB is on the left side you might need to take the TB part way off and if you do turn it just give it a 1/4 1/2 turn at the most. It will open or close the TB blade but I think you have another problem besides that so id wait for more responses

the things to check are

Idle screw on Thottlebody

IAC and throttle position sensor.

more then likely it will just be the screw

She's had the car about 3 years. I've always thought it idled low. She had to take it in today because the battery cable was shot, and the car would lose all power. I bet it was fun when she was driving down the road and all the idiot lights came on. The mechanics must have said something about the idle.

A stock car's idle table is set to about 650rpm if I remember correctly, if the tach is off by a "hair" it would look like it's idling just above 500rpm. If you'd like to play with it, you can set the idle screw, but the adaptive learning will bring it back over time to what ever it's set at (desired Idle speed, and g/sec of airflow past the IAC), plus the computer allows +-8 degrees of timing for idle rpm control.
