Just was curious as to what LSx guys think of Cobras? I know the whole Chevy vs. Ford rivaly, but after reading about the Speed Inc. cruise and everything, it sounds like Cobras and LSx powered cars seem to get along...
Is that true, or not the case?
Just wondering, because if I ever get a LS1 I'm gonna cruise with him still, but dunno what other LSx guys thought of Cobras. (IMO it's a very nice car, the seats are comfy as hell and the interior is simple... pretty quick too)
FWIW, it's a '03 Cobra, pewter in color, stock except for straight pipes and tint. It's only got 5X,xxx miles and he got it for right around $16k with all taxes and fees etc... from a dealership. Weird it was so cheap, that's why he jumped on it. Clean/clear title.

Cheap price!
I like the 03-04 cars, only fast/afordable Stangs out there if you ask me (from the factory).
Throw a pully on it, exhaust, tune, and stickes and have some fun![Grin](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)
A local has one tha tcranks out like 700rwhp, his old one ran 11's on a pulley and exhaust.
I have driven a few, impressive but heavy.

'03-'04 Cobra Coupe
HP: 390
TQ: 390
Weight: 3665
'02 Camaro SS Coupe
HP: 325
TQ: 340
Weight: 3440
That's what I found with a little google searching... I always thought LS1's were faster stock though.. However, the numbers seem to lean towards a Cobra..

$1,000? Pulleys, exhuast, something else? That's pretty crazy, I'll have to tell him to check this out.
He said it's already got 4.10's in the rear..

If you wander over to the Street Racing and Kills section, find any Cobra kill post, and you will be able to get a boatload of useless info. Stock for stock, drivers race pretty much.

Yes he did. lol why?
Edit: He took me for another ride in it today... I REALLY need to get a LS1 soon. That acceleration just felt sooooooo good.
He said he wants to get vanity plate: "LOL LS1"
Then I said I'm gonna get "SLOBRA"
We both agreed we'll still cruise around together. haha

He'll get some good modding info and some tips to help him keep the thing alive when he does mod it.
In reply to a question in your original post.....Yes, the Chicagoland SVT and LS1 guys get along as well as can be expected. Mutual respect evident in the guys on both sides from what I've seen. There's always hardcore nutswingers, but I think the fact that several local speed shops do work on both brands tends to bring the two groups together somewhat.
As for the vanity plate idea, he's gonna get a boatload of ***-whippings in the Chicagoland area with a plate like that.

haha I am positive he won't be getting a plate like that. He just knows how bad I want a LS1 so he keeps on me about it.
The more I am around that car the more I like it, but if you had a Sonic Blue Cobra parked next to a Black WS6, I'd go straight for the T/A. Now if it was a Mystichrome Cobra, maybe I'd consider... but I think we can all agree that that's one of the sexiest factory paint jobs ever.
