Use inconel on exhaust and good springs
**** the vic jr...LS2 and ported TB is perfect for turbo application, easy to tune, etc. A lot more clearance than tall *** vic jr!
dont know about the crank thing...most of the turbo cars I see are auto. a 370 cube Turbo should get you 700 crank pretyt easy, and not so much torque as to be unusable down low. You should be able to do entire longblock for $5k oil pan to manifold I imagine.

Nick,
The only LQx crank that doesn't work is the early LQ4 (iron head) crank, from 1999; it has a longer rear flange to mate with a Turbo400 style converter on a 4L80e; they shortened it to be the same as the rest in early/mid 2000, and as long as your engine comes with aluminum heads, it's fine.
You can tell at a glance if it's the right crank, as the proper one is almost flush with the rear cover/rear main seal, and the "long" crank sticks out about 1/2". I've seen a lot of LQ4/LQ9 motors and never seen a long crank, they're pretty rare.
I have a stock crank sitting in my garage from my LQ4 (short) you can have if you want, it needs turned (spun rod bearing), but considering your place of employment that's probably not too bad. Yours if you want it.

My Fireturd is now fixed. The new Walbro had a different cereal number on it and different stamping than the previous bad one. This gives me some hope at least that perhaps the new one is not a cheep Chineese one as well.
A good Air Force buddy is coming into town this evening with his twin turbo C5. Not sure if we will be out tonight (Friday) or not as the weather looks a bit gloomy, and if no one else is going to be out, I doubt we will either. However the weather is looking good for Saturday, and he and I will definatly be out then.

It's cloudy, but supposed to be rain-free tonight. Low altitude with the air like this... Good power... God, I can't wait for the next nitro race... I think I'm starting to get withdrawals...
I'll be out in my turd. Just put in new subframe and diff mounts as well as poly rear control arm bushings, hopefully my binding and wheel hop should be somewhat reduced. We'll see.

Well, if that many people are coming out, then we'll definatly make an appearance BOTH tonight and Saturday night.
He's currently still driving here, and then were going to meet up for some food, stop by a party, but then we'll be out (probably 11-12 ish).
Here's a pic I took of his car a few months ago when I visited him in IL;
