No we'll be one of the slowest in the drag radial class. We went to an air to water intercooler this year and true street doesn't allow you to replace the water between rounds. Also, Ted Garvin's son is getting married that Saturday, so he'll fly back out of Memphis Friday after the qualifying round, then he'll be back at the track Saturday evening for Sundays racing. This works out with drag radial, but True Street runs on Saturday. Hopefully all goes well. Bobl

Jassim's cool, we took him to Big G's for lunch today, then Brent took him over to show him the GTO drag car this afternoon. I wish that he would of brought his car over with him, as he would of had plenty of time here to get it dialed in. It cost him $3,000.00 every time he takes his car to the track to run it over there. They don't have any dragstrips in Kuwait, so he has to go to Bahrain. Bob

Kuwait, Bahrain... you guys are bringing back some memories of the desert. Near Bahrain in UAE in a city called Dubai (like the other areas) there is a lot of wealth, and it shows. There are tons of guys rollin' around in some very expensive cars. I just wouldn't want to deal with all that heat and dust.

That track in Dubai is rediculous! It's probably the best/nicest track in the world!

It's pretty much all a big sand box over there. Everything gets sandy/dusty. If you have a clean car over there, its only because you just washed it.
Dubai and UAE in general has so much money, they actually give all their native born residence a place to live (meaning a free home), and or income just for staying there. UAE is one of the few countries over there dumping a TON of money into tourist attractions. As they want to still be profitable after the natural gas, and oil is gone.
Every day I'd fly a combat sortie over there, we'd always cross over the persian gulf and see literally hundreds of oil tankers coming and going. It was just rediculous.
It will be a very interesting place over there, once they all do run out of their oil.

Dubai is a large city just north of where I deployed to. We flew over it every day (and night).
There are a couple guys I was deployed that made this music video while we were there. It gives you an idea of what the environment is outside the city;
