Yeah, I'm not sure what happened. It looks like it was the aftermarket keyless entry, as her "clicker" wouldn't open the doors either. Keys work fine though.

I'll check out the wiring tonight when I get off work. On a positive note, 3 hours or idling = less than 1/8 tank of gas.

edit: Oh, and yes, it was toasty warm inside. LOL.

For the record I have locked my keys in my car numerous times, I think only in my trucks though, not my Camaro. And fortunately not while running. I can crack the lock on an 87' Elcamino in about 46 seconds, including hangar bend time, but 93' Sonoma I'm convinced is impossible to "pop". I've seen friends do it, but I was never able to get it so there fore it's not possible!

If your car is old or a rental (and NOT a 'vert), I can get in VERY quickly without breaking any glass.

Just use a wedge and a prybar (with a towel) and pull the door frame.

Unfortunately the BMW is a) not a POS or a rental and b) a convertible, so it has no door frames...

I'm ordering another spare key from BMW currently.

Yeah we know him, and I think it's a 96'....not to be picky though. Now That I think about it he was the one that got me into my Sonoma, What a life saver it was cold that night.

I have seen and used the kits where you can put an air bag and a wedge into the door frame then put a bendable bar into the car to trip the locks. Pretty cool if you can't work a slimjim or if there is an anti theft plate covering the locking mechanism.

Wow he seems to be well known. Well you guys may like this one. He was talking to a buddy of mine over the weekend. Here is how part of the conversation went down.

Kid with Camaro " Ya my car is really fast"
My buddy "O ya?"
Kid with Camaro "Yep, Ever heard of LS1tech?"
My buddy "ya"
Kid with Camaro " ever see the thread about the Hall's crowd?"
My buddy "ya"
Kid with Camaro " ya they started that thread just to talk sh*t about my car because it is faster than all of theirs"
My buddy (at this point trying not to laugh) "sweet"
Kid with Camaro "yep, I have my own shop too (hands my buddy a business card) You'll have to check it out sometime"
My buddy "OK" (sarcasm and trying real hard not to laugh)

Then it went into a whole lot of BS'ing

Has been since 8 AM (11 AM now). I guess eventually it will run out of gas.

My wife, has a spare set of keys, but apparently can't be bothered to answer her cell phone. Thank god she has it for emergencies...

Ironically, just to make sure I'm not crazy, I re-read the owners manual on my car. It states, in bold letters, that the doors cannot lock when either the doors or trunk are open. I start the car for 2-3 minutes every day, if it's below freezing, just to let the oil get moving before I head in. Did it the same way as always (reach in, start it up, shut door, come in the house). Apparently it's just pissed about the weather.

I'm glad gas is sub 2 dollars. I'd have thrown a brick through the window by now if it was still ~4.50...
I've had that happen to me before. Dog was in the firebird and obviously got mad at me and the wife and locked the car on me. Both sets of keys were in there. Good thing I could push the window down a smidget so I could press the button with a piece of wood.
