I have driven my buddies twin disc T/A before and I didn't care for it. I know it holds the power and is rebuildable, but what a PITA to drive, especially around town.
SPEC makes good clutches (a lot better ones now than years back). I love the way they drive and feel and bite when I want it to. And for the price of what they cost compared to others that hold the same power rating, IMO they can't be beat.
Heck, I have a SPEC stage III in the Z now. That clutch when it was made was only rated to around 450 ish RWTQ. My Z dyno'd with 555 RWTQ. It has lasted me numerous track runs on slicks, and countless dead hook beatings on the street for years now, and it still drives fine. Just after the track run that shocker made, and a few other times it is just now showing small signs of going out.
The new stage III is rated for MORE than I have power wise. The stage III+ is rated for well over 750 RWTQ. I'll be just fine with that...

On another note, the weekend I might be coming to the Fort will be the first weekend of August (31 Jul thrugh 2 Aug). My class had a class party last night, and one of the instructors agreed to go to the Fort with me. However he was pretty plastered, so hopefully when he is sober, he remembers he agreed to come with me...
I'll keep everyone up to date. If I do come to the Fort, I'll have to ask you guys for some help to show my instructor a good time. He likes good food, and likes cars (although he doesn't own a sports car or is knowledgeable on them).

Just a thought Ben, but it sure would be real cool if a group of guys could meet up with you at the airport with your car waiting on you in the parking lot. I was thinking fueled, washed and inspected for trouble free fun.

From what I understand, I would be arriving sometime in the late day/evening anyways. The T-6 and its 1100 Horse Power (2900 ft pounds of Torque), is not really fuel friendly as you might guess. So to make it up to the Fort from Mississippi will require at least 3-4 stops to get fuel, and due to the specifics of the sortie, I am supposed to get so many different types of approaches anyways. I guess what I am saying here is Friday I might end up just available to grap some food, and Saturday will be the day I will have more time.

That would be kickass. On one hand I would like to check it out myself just because I know all the little things to look for specific to my car, to make sure everything is good to go on it before it is driven. On the other hand, it would save me some time (which I really won't have much of), and if its all ready to go, I would probably be able to meet up at Halls with it that very night. I'll have to ponder a bit more on it...

Switches, pulled a 3rd place out of 9 with my Mach1. I was the only modded car in my class. I don't know if thats a deduction or not? The weather looked iffy in the morning, but by early afternoon, i was able to get sunburnt.
Ben, I would be willing to help out with anything you needed. Please let me know. Also, Halls is out of the question like Shocker said earlier. Liberty Diner is the new spot now. I like the picnic/outside eating area, its a decent area for a group like our own.
You're car needs to work over the Team Fuzion RX-7. That car is an animal!
