Ken If you really want just a fun cheap car with a ton of room to mod and make a wicked fast car without blowing your entire budget on just the car alone Id get something like this car.
Great Looking, Lite weight stock, More Rare than normal f-bodies, and could be turned into a monster for less money then what the cost alone would be if you bought anything new/stock and then tried to make quick..
Ebay car - Firebird (#200440046416)
I dont understand why alot of people buy these stock cars and honestly worry about how they perform stock or how much they weight...Really the car seen in ft wayne has really slowed down and why would you wanna kill yourself with a super expensive car to just cruise around here and there. Buy a really nice less expensive car and spend your big bucks actually making it quick instead of just alittle better than stock.... Buy a car like that Firehawk and Lets MOD the HELL out of it... Lets get a forged bottom end and add some boost!! If you wanna be the KING OF THE STREETS your gonna need at least 700plus horsepower.... Buying a stock mustang with 400 horse just seems like a bad direction to head... Sorry just my opinion but it kills me to see people go in really dumb directions with cars and then sit back and bitch how slow they still are..

^Thats a killer deal on that Firehawk if it goes for that little.
Nate, you got any pics from the magazine your car is in? I tried going to the local book store but they don't offer the mag you and big Rob are in.

Ok or.. buy a modded car for 20k -25k take someones loss on a heavy modded car workout all the bugs and have an almost completed car and cruise it.. Im sure everyone has seen how flooded the market is with stock and modded and full-out race cars.. its a buying market for people with cash or good credit.

You can get a used 97-99 Viper for high $2X,XXX. Those came with forged bottom ends and fairly low CR, perfect for a simple fuel upgrade for some boost with a tune. You'd easily be running faster than me and have but a fraction in mods. (Yet another something to consider)
Just scanned and uploaded Nate and Robbies car articles for anyone else like me found it difficult to see.

Thanks it was a very lucky deal Rob's car caught the editors eye since he once owned a pewter ram air. He dropped a buisness card in Rob's front seat and Rob called him and set it all up..all the photos were taking in Dayton, Ohio by the editor Kevin DiOssi..

Ken if you're going the used car route, like with the saleen, you might be better off going with the gt500 in that case. It already comes with a bigger 5.4L forged motor and a tremec 6 speed. Slap a Whipple (or TT kit) on it with suporting mods and call it a day. Theres several of them on ebay right now for low to mid 30k
