Seriously though, have you checked the inlet and outlet temp of the Cat? Plugs good? Possible to have a bad fuel injector? We could rig up a wideband in it and put one of my MIL eliminators on the downstream 02 sensor. Let me know if you need a hand. I remember you bitching about it last year.

Hey, if anyone knows a car for sale around 2k or under...let me know.
My buddies truck popped a headgasket and it's not worth it to repair it. He's looking to replace it.

KDog- The new mustang just got chassis dynoed. From the factory its rated at 412crank horse. But it is putting down 395rwhp bone stock. Sounds pretty underrated to me.
This is an excerpt from an article that George Klass wrote- "he compression ratio is 11.25:1. With 4-cams it's easy to do and not have detonation. The problem is that most mod motor racers set their cars up as if it was a pushrod (single cam) motor. Our total valve lift is so low that you would laugh about it, it's less than most street cams. The new 2011 Mustang 5.0L 4-cam engine has computer controlled camshaft timing. This means that you can set the engine up one way for the launch (when the boost is only 40 psi) and change the cam timing as the boost comes on. And the intake cams and the exhaust cams can be controlled INDEPENDENTLY from each other with the Motec computer.
We have these engines in our shop, thanks to Ford Racing. Right now our 4-cam 4.6L is making about 9 horsepower per cubic inch on gasoline. Wait until we turn the Coyote loose. The potential from this engine is unbelievable. When you see this engine disassembled, you would swear that it's out of a Formula 1 racecar, and it's a production piece. The computer controlled cam timing in the 2011 Mustang is set so conservative that the engine can make about 410 hp and still get almost 30 mpg, and be 100% emissions legal. The headers are full tube race headers, not those crappy shortys. The OEM throttle body is 80mm. I would not be surprised to see a sharp guy with an SCT tuner get 500+ hp out of this engine just be reflashing the OEM computer, with NO mods to the engine.

9 HP/ci? That's 2500+ HP. I'm going to go ahead and say there isn't much to do with factory parts on that engine. ![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)
The new 5.0L definitely brings a lot to the table. Until GM starts putting direct injection and turbos on the LS series motors...

^ I would, although its on the extemly long list of things that are probably not ever going to happen.
RX-7 LS1 builds are a great setup. Light, fairly inexpensive car, all on a fairly inexpensive build, and very capable. Oh if I only had a pile of money... well a pile I wasn't already going to dump on a house.

Oh found something kinda funny bout this test. Ford enthusiests were screamin bring on a Shelby against an SS. Come on really? I think once the Z28 gets the LSA it will be a good match up. Heck throw on a Maggie and your gonnabe pretty close powerwise right witha regualer SS and loads of cash saved over the Shelby.

Hall's kicked us out, because they're idiots. Liberty invited us down there because they're awesome. Food is much better as well.
