Its definetly not for you then.

Do you think its as dangerous as funny cars having a peddle fest down the track?
I understand if they crosss the line there out but still.

If the lead car crosses the centerline then its DQ'd but anything goes for the rear car. A chase is a race, the black car shouldnt have lifted if thats what he did. Silver car was hungry for the $$$. I dont know if i would have got back in it after gettin all sketchy like that on a reg race, but 10,000$ is a big motivator. I would have to change my pants for sure.

Joey's car just shut down after the wheelie. Talking with em last night, it didn't sound like they knew for sure what the problem was.

It depends. A peddle fest is fine, but if those cars are way out of shape, those drivers should be out of it, and 99.9% of the time a professional driver knows that and respects the car.

I've spent a lot of time at the track, and seen plenty of runs where someone stayed into it when they really should not have. Some end well, some don't. Personally I would not want to be behind someone who kept on it with a car that out of shape.

I have a lot of respect for his driving to keep it and then ***** to get back in it, but it lacks the respect/professionalism for a car with that much power to do what he did. Driving like that will eventually bite you in the ***.

FWIW, I come from T/F bike racing where you have an even thinner margin than you do in a car. That thing was ahead of him, he got lucky, plain and simple.

I'm not trying to be judgemental here, just giving my opinion. I realize he was within the rules of the event, just saying that wasn't really the brightest move ever.

How many times did Larry get in and out of the throttle, sending the tire up in smoke just about each time, that one late afternoon pass at Norwalk? 12?

I think the big thing is that the fox was still chasing him down when the car tried to get away from him, so if anything were to happen, no harm, no foul. Not to mention the majority of those cars are 275 radial cars. It's a miracle if they make a full pass without the car wanting to get away from them.

Well, I got the skinnie tires in the mail today. I had an issue earlier with my new Baer brakes not fitting properly and had to call up Chris to fabricate me up some brackets (which he did an amazing job on). Still don't have the brakes in yet, and would need to get my tires mounted on the wheels. And there's still a chance of rain tomorrow, so it looks unlikely that I'll make it to Muncie tomorrow.

Who all is going tomorrow for sure?

He wasn't out of shape though, that's the difference.

Ask Korry Hogan about trying to push through when you're out of shape. He's eaten **** 3 times now doing that. I bet this guy would've done much more than 10k in damage to the car if his luck went the other way there.

Anyway, I'm not trying to argue with you guys, he got lucky so he's a hero, good for him.

Hey Ben. I decided to take on a HVAC delete today. It was more time consuming than I thought. Plus I broke a dash piece. So if I don't make great progress getting it back together tomorrow, I'm out. I can still do next Wednesday though if interested.

I haven't gotten my rear tires either, so I would have to run my shooters instead of the new Welds. Will have them by next Wednesday.

Realizing if you are going, you'd be there now instead of reading this, but I am obviously out for sure for today. A lot of the maybe pieces worked, I got the day off, the weather was nice, but my brakes still aren't in the car yet, and I didn't get a chance to get the tires mounted on the wheels.

Hopefully next week will work for me also. We'll see what the weather looks like and if I have to work.

Shocker was planning on going tonight, but he is working out some bugs in his car, so he didn't go either. Maybe we can get a group for next Wednesday?

Theres a heads up race at Osceola next Friday 18th. Gates open at 4 and there will be a car show cruise in also on the grounds..

The race is heads up pro tree with a 8.50 cut off. If you go faster than 8.50 you lose. There will be several mid low 9 cars entering and a few upper 8's as of now.
its 40$ each in the pot and winner gets 80% 2nd gets 20%.
Hat style race all names in hat and drawn each round for match ups.

Finally got my car back down off the jack stands. Big Stuff 3 running with an external trigger wheel/pickup now. Finally pulls >4000 RPM under power. At 7.5 psi and 13* of timing it went 40-145 mph in 7.7 seconds, only WOT the last 5 seconds of the pull too. Got a lot of work to do on the tune, but at least it's finally running well.

joeyagls1, sorry I never said "hi" last night. Saw you over there, and meant to talk to you, but then you left.

Was pretty sweet to get the car out again last night and hang out! I may be out again tonight (weather says its gonna be nice).

Possibly going to Muncie this Wednesday as well. Anyone else interested in going?

Hello LS1 techies
I have a guy helping me finish up my Nova with an LQ9 in it. The thermastat is not opening. The car has been running enough for the gauge to read 210* 3-4 times. I have all truck accessories except the water pump which is 98-02 Camaro WP. We have used 2 new thermastats.

1. Does the Camaro WP flow a different direction?
2. Just to make sure, does the water flow out the upper hose into the radiator & back in from the lower hose?
3. Any other possibilities?
Thanks
