thinking about joinning the Air Force im looking at joinning the Air Force. i would like 1 of 4 jobs
either a Electrical Systems Apprentice or a Fire Protection Apprentice, or a Pararescue Apprentice or Pavements and Construction Equipment Apprentice . i grad on Jan 23rd 09. whats Air Force boot camp like? i ve played football and wrestling ,so im useto to physical trainning.

lol those are some pretty unrelated jobs. Forget electrical systems or construction systems. Fire Protections is a cool job, pararescue is a whole other monster. If you are serious about pj i would start reading up on and get serious.

Im an "Aerospace Propulsion Journeyman" (jet mechanic). It sucks ***. Wish i would have done what i wanted to which was Aerial Gunner. That or Tac P. If youre ok with the difficulty of pararescue then you should try one of those 2. They are badass as ****. Boot camp wasnt bad. The breakfast made it all worth it! The food kicks ***.

I did 21 years, my son is in now and lives in Tokyo and loves it, and daughter is considering becoming a USAF officer. Choose your job wisely. I know it is too early to say if you will stay 20, or get out after 4, but what you do in the military will line you up for job opportunities as a civilian.
Always a need for well-trained firefighters out there. so keep those sorts of things in mind. Don't just focus on the now and next few years, look at the big picture. I don't know what a PJ does after 20 years of jumping out of 'copters and planes, but my guess is that they are pretty beat-up by then. Maybe they could teach skydiving, or become a military instructor on the civilian side.

USAF--been there done that---training was cake! lmao, so easy! more drill eticate than anything...had SSgt Monroe---SSgt MCclurr for tech---I was FUELS and hated it boring!---do something fun and exciting! I sat around more than anything---looks good on a resume though! Good luck man!

yea if they dont have the job you want just leave right then dont let then sweet talk you into something else. Either get what you want or tell them you will wait. Better than getting a job you dont like and having to do it for 4 years.

Just a little question,
I'm engaged to my gf of 4 1/2 yrs,if I got transfered to a base in Europe,can my wife , join me and live on base with me,
they will pay to move her ,correct?

i think firefighter is a cool job!! definitely not security forces!! if i had a chance to pick my job over, it would be something in medical. medical is pretty cake.. as for basic training its kinda funny.. just make sure that u can hang running atleast 2 miles and be able to knock out push ups and full situps.. that should help.
oh and another thing, i would suggest maybe 1 week before u go to boot camp try getting used to TX. central time.. i think wake up is 4 or 5. that way yur body will be used to it.

If you are gonna tie the knot do it before you leave for basic. That way you can get the hassle of the paperwork done and you will get more money. It will save you alot of potential headaches down the road.
