The Few. The Proud. The Marines. Check in here!
Devil Dogs only please. There's no brotherhood like that between Marines. So lets check in, shoot the scuddlebutt. Terms like Deck, bulkhead, porthole, fire for effect, and BCGs may be used freely here! Let's hear your MOS, dates served, deployments and anything service related you wanna brag about! And lets hear about your car, of course! I ask that you add a pic or two, car pics or moto pics. Also, I think we need to have this open to our Green-side Corpsmen as well!

I'll start. I served from 02-06 as an 0811 Cannoneer. Honorably discharged and exited as a Sergeant. Pulled some string in the start of OIF in 03 and returned as provisional infantry in 04 based out of Ramadi. Did plenty of convoy escort work also so I've seen the country. Also UDP'd to Okinawa in 05. I'm lookin to get back in but am settling for reserves since the down-size is keeping me from going back active. I drive a 02 Firebird W68 and have an 00 WS6 A4 as a project. Semper Fi, guys.

In just over two years. Series honorman in Boot Camp and Company Honorman in ITB. Separated my shoulder during the Crucible, again during the 3 day war, and the last time during AT with my reserve unit this summer. They're deploying this month and I may need a 2nd surgery. I've begged and pleaded with my squad leader all the way up to the Co. Commander but they all say get fixed first. I did get to see the birth of my second daughter which was a blessing.
While I'm healing up, I found a '93 ppm TA hardtop, original owner, 104k mi. Needs a few odds and ends but otherwise immaculate interior and great body minus light clearcoat/sun damage. I'll get a pic or two up later.

Welcome to the Corps! As a Sgt, I agree with your command, get fixed before you go over. Trust me, the last thing you need to worry about when the lead starts flying is a nagging, potentially serious injury. You'll be hauling and lift a LOT over there. You wanna be the most effective and efficient killer you can be when you go overseas, trust me! Oohrah!

That's awesome! I recently flew my father up to the Museum in D.C. and we had a blast. I'm not a Marine and I don't mean to hog your thread but I will leave you with a short story. A part of the museum has you bail out of the back of a bird and immediately your met with the sound of enemy fire. I look over and see my father ducking his head as the sounds of flying bullets increase. I asked "what are you doing?" He replied with "It's been 40 years since I've been shot at, but I still duck when I hear that sound". Take care!

I was in Alpha Company 1/8 out of Camp Lejeune N.C. and changed between 0331 to 0351 Infantry. I served from 1999-2003 with 3 overseas tours with an honorable discharge as an E-5.
Right now currently working on an 02 Pewter z28 that I bought a couple months back.

Oohrah! Got the Grunts representing in here! When I enlisted under Delayed Entry, my MOS was 03 but when I graduated high school in may '02, Infantry was full and I got stuck with 0811 Artillery. Actually did more infantry work that cannoneering! Marine Artillery is really just like mortars. I have a friend who was with 1/4 81s Plt. He saw action in Najaf in '04 and was in the cemetary fighting that was all over the news. Add some pics to your posts guys, car pics and moto pics!
