Default army guys. questions

Im in the army, and i had a question for the team leaders and squad leaders. I get a call today (saturday) on my day off. blah blah im a MP. so i guess this MOS is stricter than any other Ive been in a little over a year and im a PFC(e-3) and i get a call today from my squad leader. no normally i wouldnt think my squad leader(sgt e-5) would call because thats jumping chain of command and team leaders are suppose to get a hold of you but he just calls for accountability(in my entire military career so far no one has done this so why start now?). so thats all done with and i go back to bed and i leave my phone in the living room. so i get another call from my team leader (spc e-4) and he called 3 times i was asleep and just waking up with my wife. anywho i get up and call him back and hes in a pissy mood saying i need to answer my phone to do accountability check and this is my last fing warning and he just hangs up on me... is this spc out of line? because i think he was. why would my squad leader do accountability check and then my team leader do it after him??? wtf??? any help would be great....

Sounds like your SL didn't tell your TL that he already did accountability. If it bothers you that bad, talk to your TL about it. However, I'd just let it go because I don't think it'll be worth the trouble.

Tell him your SL already called, don't take too much flack from a SPC. I know it works a little different in line units, but I'm a SPC and don't talk down to any of my Soldiers because I know my rank isn't ****, I've found that you'll get a lot better response from someone by treating them like a human being rather than scum.

I've only been in the Army for a little over 2.5 years, but here is something I learned the hard way after bending over backwards at my last unit and being stressed over work all of the time. Do NOT take the Army too seriously, you'll have a miserable time. I wake up in the mornings and completely clear my mind starting at PT, I make sure not a single negative thought goes through it and just fill my head with car stuff and other happy thoughts. Don't screw up outside of work, get all of the work done that you can without stressing over it, and if you can't do every single little thing asked of you(because we all know that's impossible in the Army) ..who cares? Really..what are they going to do? Had a really cool E7 at my last unit that used to always say "What are they going to do ..fire me?!" and would just walk off laughing. You'd think he was a POS by saying that, but was actually very high speed guy who was down to earth but at the same time a complete realist. Seriously man, don't take any of the BS to heart and think nothing of it, I wish someone had told me this 2 years ago.

I just moved to Schweinfurt, like 30 minutes from you. Didn't bring my car though, was told it would not pass inspection, and as soon as I get here I see both of my neighbors have modded FBodys lol, oh well.

Tell the SPC to pound sand. He was out of line because there is never a reason to be an ostentatious douchebag to a suboordinate, no matter what rank you are. It breeds distrust and contempt. I view that as a completely seperate issue then the double accountability call, which would seem to be a lack of communication in the squad (somewhere).

Usually accountability calls go out when there is a unit alert, or a serious incident happens (wreck, death, etc). Commanders usually have the 1SGs get 100% accountability of the unit to verify that it wasn't one of their guys, etc etc. It happens, play the game.

You can change MOS at any time, but the options are few and limited in this day and age. Often you have to be in your reenlistment window (see armyreenlistment.com BEAR program and Application MOS').

The army is what you make it. You can badmouth anything or anyone or even the army all you want, but the army is going to go on, and you can either move up or get out. At any rate, using "In my entire military career" as a PFC is about as relevant as a west point LT teaching a land nav class. Do us all a favor and help your self to a nice cup of shut the **** up .

I'm going to assume GER is your first duty station becaues of your rank and all I can tell you is don't judge the army as a whole by your experience at one location, or one unit (especially overseas). You don't have any real perspective or experience yet, so you don't have much of a leg to stand on.

Anyway, best of luck resolving your situation.

Best place to get your car inspected is over in Schweinfurt. Theres a middle aged german guy there. Pretty nice. Im sure he will pass your camaro no problems. Maybe im looking at the army all wrong. Who knows. Everyone one tells me to not base the army off of your first duty station. Going to do my time and if i decide to stay in i will. If not then i will pound sand and go back to civ. theres good times and bad. They say the first year or two is the worst....

Thanks, I've heard about the old guy, supposedly has a pretty quick mopar?

And yep, don't base it off of your first duty station. That doesn't mean it will get any better at the next though. So far this place is better than my last unit(I was stationed at FLW while you were probably at basic/AIT), but it's not the great place by no means.

Like I said, learn to not take ANY of the BS to heart. You will be miserable until you find out how to ignore certain things. If you do plan on getting out, make a plan now on what you are going to do on the outside. I don't see anything wrong with getting out, it's the dumbasses that get out with zero idea on what they are going to do is what's ignorant to me. I know I'm getting out in 2015, no question about it, but best believe that I getting everything that I can out of the military before I go. College, certifications, and medical if I sustain an injury ..I'd be a fool not to.

Talk to your S1 or finance, you may be receiving it and it's just going towards housing. Is your housing being payed and you're receiving BAH?

Hard to know what's going on without seeing your LES. But yes, if your housing, utilities, etc.. are being paid and you're pocketing BAH each month, there is an issue.

Sounds like your TL got his *** chewed by the SL for not answering his own phone when he was trying to do accountability, so your SL called everybody instead. Now the TL is pissed because he got his *** chewed and he's taking it out on you. I'm sure you've heard the saying **** rolls down hill...

Regardless, Spec4 sounds like a real *****, does he make you stand at parade rest and say "yes specialist-promotable, no specialist-promotable."

On posts with privatized housing, you get paid BAH, and it is deducted back in the same paycheck (to pay the civilian housing contract office)

Hes actually in WLC he makes us stand at parade rest yes. But our plt is now making all the pvts and pfc stand at parade rest for specialist when talking to them. Its always been that way i hear, but never really enforced here now since its "relaxed germany" supposibly he wants to hear yes spc team leader. truely a lol imo treat your privates like **** and there will be trust issues like there are now.

Or is this something i need to fix. Either way im probably gonna go to finance about it. And print out my ERB from the time she got here to now.

What a bunch of BS. WLC is a vacation, I just graduated in August and wish I was still there.

"Yes SPC team leader" ..lololol get the f' outta here, he can't be serious. If any of my Soldiers ever say that to me I'm going to request a **** test asap, they talk to me like a normal human being and I do the same.

How long have you been here? I'd be calling branch and seeing when you can roll out, there is nothing wrong with respecting those that out rank you, but you shouldn't have to stroke their ego. Your unit sounds whack.

Ive been here since april of this year. Yes this unit is pretty whack. This unit should be resigning from duty soon. In the next two years or so. Also where im stationed is closing soon as well. Im a MP so standards are "higher" not sure how that works. But in my plt alone i dislike it. Everyone always at each others throats. I am married so im here for 3 years. Not sure where i will go next but anywhere but stay here.

I hear you. I was an 11B and I swear my 1SG had a competition with the other 1SGs to see who would switch to winter PTs last...

Privates also had to stand at parade rest for Spec4s, and the 1SG didn't tolerate mustaches or hair that wasn't at least a medium fade with skin. Lots of retarded ****. Show up for work an hour early at 5:30, etc, etc.

If I was a PFC id tell a SPC to eat a D***.
Still not sure why people want E1-E3 to stand at parade rest for a SPC.
There is bigger problems in the Army.

Play the game...

I for one am not about to play the jack *** role because I might have someone under me. I've got other $hit to occupy my time.

I'm playing S-3 on the CPOF for an FA battalion. My section NCO can't go on FTXs and the section leader is an O-4. That leaves me, myself and I to work movement and manuever for the entire battalion on the CPOF. Setup, operation & tear down.

I was trained too well by brigade apparently.

With that stress of the command staff from the battalion AND brigade breathing down my neck, I still won't be a $hit to anyone that is assigned to me. Unconventional ways and means make for the best successes...
