I cant believe that one branch of the armed forces doesnt have respect for another. Maybe its just my age but I dont understand why people are like that. Everyone thinks there better than everyone else.

Well, as for "training" - you do it for the weekdays only, mostly. Sometimes on the weekend, but most of the time you're let alone on weekends, just depends on your TI. Let me summarize my 6.5 weeks in basic:
Zero Week (your first few days, aka, the .5): I showed up late to mine, Friday to be precise. Sucked cause we stuck out like sore thumbs, while everyone else had uniforms and we had to wait almost an extra week to get ours, and our haircuts. Anyway, pretty lame, a little yelling from cocky 6-weekers, but they give some helpful insight once lights out happens. Lot of hazing tends to happen with them and they get into trouble from it often 8P. You also get assigned your details.
1st week: Massive inprocessing time spent, and you arent at the squadron much. Lots of yelling from the TI's, merely to "break you down", although I got a chuckle out of it most times. Learned how to fold laundry (although now, I hear you ROLL laundry into tight little *****). Initial PT evaluations also happen this week to determine where you stand, and you are put into specialized groups to get you into shape.
2nd week: Lots more emphasis done on inspections and whatnot, for your clothing drawers. I seem to remember whats called "Red Line" inspections were this week - also known as your 1st inspection for the WHOLE locker. Its generally nothing more than throwing your **** around the room, and/or just messing it up in the drawer, just to get under your skin.
3rd week: More of the same ol' **** - random inspections, PT, blah blah. You also will waste a whole day at 2nd clothing issue, getting your blues, and then you will learn how to put them away, eventually. You also do the test this week (general AF test, or whatever it was)
4th Week: Final PT evals are this week - if you fail, you get 1 more try before the end of the week, and if you fail again, you get washed back. Its based off of the 1.5 mile run, about 50 something pushups and 60 situps, and weight.
5th Week: Also known as "Warrior Week". Mine consisted of things such as gas mask and chem warfare training. You also get M16 training and get to run around with a silly helmet on. I hear now you carry around an old M16 with the firing pin removed and whatnot. Oh, and you get to try MRE's out too. Dont get the meatloaf 8P. After Warrior Week, you get your Airmans coin in a bad attempt to make you emotional heh.
6th Week: Your last week. You now get to wear your blues around. Less emphasis on PT now (other than the final Airman's run, which was something like a 2 mile job - really weak). Much more emphasis placed on marching practice in your blues, and practicing to look good on your parade day. Actually about half of basic is spent preparing to look good for graduation day lol. You also will be tested for Honor Flight status this week in a little Marching practice.
So there ya have it, all of AF Basic, for the most part. Im sure I forgot some things, its been a little while, and its also changing quite a bit especially with warrior week - but otherwise, thats just about it.

As for Life on Base 99% of your bases have Movie theaters, Gyms (with pools) Hobby centers (with auto shop),Adventure centers (for hiking, & discount tickets for sporting events & theme parks)
So do you know what you are in for? (what your job is??) you will not find out what base you will go to until after tech

yeah if your a gunner on a helicopter you might get stationed on an army base which would suck (im not hating, just telling the truth) but the AF will pay you more for the crappy living. On an airforce base they are usually designed to entertain you so you dont have to leave ie. BX (walmart), hobby shop (pimp garage with lifts and tools), movie theatre, pool, gyms, chow hall, commisary (safeway), bowling alley, e-club (bar), and a bunch of fast food places. Im stationed at ramstein air base germany and we have all kinds of crap on base ie Chilis, JR Rockers, casino, golf course, and other stuff. I was stationed at Travis AFB, CA before this and that was pretty much the best place (area wise) that ive ever been in my life, although Germanys not that bad. And i didnt get hazzed.
PS DONT VOLUNTEER FOR ANYTHING, WHEN YOU FIRST GET TO BASIC OR THE WHOLE TIME YOUR AT BASIC THE BEST THING TO DO IS KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND DONT TALK UNLESS YOU ARE TALKED TO BY ONE OF THE TI's DIRECTLY, IF YOUR LUCKY YOULL MAKE IT THE WHOLE TIME WITHOUT GETTING NOTICED. Good Luck
