Default Army heads - Pay scale question

Is it possible for an E4 non-officer "intelligence analyst" with 10 years total in the Army to make 57k-70k in one year? Bonuses, incentives, etc. etc.

Let me know.

Doubt it.

Best bet would be to deployed for as long as you could while being married (seperation pay), getting hazard/combat pay, and have an awesome BAH back where you are stationed.

im in E-4 in the airforce with just over 4 years in and i make 39000 a year. thats with bah and bas included. just to give you an idea. i guess you might be able to make just over 50k if you were in the sand box for the whole year.

hell no. Why dont you look up a payscale? E4 is always gonna be a "non officer" O4 would be officer. Depending on where you live BAH might help you out as well as COLA or whatever you qual for.

The ONLY way would be to be deployed for the entire year, with max COLA and max BAH. And you would probably have to be a married and be stationed here in Hawaii. I haven't heard of anywhere with more BAH and COLA than us out here.

I would say so, it would depend if the time was right. considering you re-enlist and get 30-35grand if your deployed then bang its tax free. Now you add up fort lewis bah which is umm i think 1100 or something. plus your regular pay. While deployed i make roughly 3000-3500 (i dont keep track anymore) each month
Lets go with 3grand for kicks
3000x12= 36000
30000 (bonus if re-enlist for 5-6 yrs if im not mistaking intel analyst is a star mos atm)
There goes 66grand thats not even with BAH and Seperation pay if you were to be deployed. Again the stars would have to line up but very easily possible.
People tend to forget that being in the army we deploy for a full year not like every other branch (not a call out just something to note for the ppl saying you would have to deploy for a year...you dont have a choice), in my case 15months. I get an extra 1000 for each month past 12 months so there goes 39000. But lets stay with the 12month term just for the explanation.

^^^^ this is including bonus, you wont make that money every single year. And, if you get out before 3 years you have to pay that back.

When I was in Hawaii BAH was 1800 a month but in TX I think its 800 a month so that could help or hurt you depending on what youre betting on making

Let me know.

Why would you still be an e-4 with 10 years in? could easily be an e-6 by then.
I think its possible for an e-6.

Lets break it down, except lets say e-6, not e-4.

im an E-4, with a little over 3 years in.
I get paid $1445, twice a month, which comes out to a total of
$34,700 (and i am single)

Lets break it down, except lets say e-6, not e-4, stationed at e-6, and your married

E-6 base pay $2900 x 12 = $39,000
e-6 BAH w/ dependants $1165 x 12 = $13,900
e-6 BAS $294.00 x 12 = $3528
yearly clothing allowance $529

Low and freakin behold that comes too
56957

So, $43 dollars more, and yea, e-6 with 10 years could make $57k
You think your tax return would get you there?

E-4, in the same situation would be
Basepay $24,744
BAH $10,900
Everything else would be the same...
that comes out to about $40k
now, When i was deployed, i had buddies re-enlist and get $24,000 tax free dollards, that would bring you to $64000

I think that if youre just in it for the money youre trying to do the wrong profession. Why dont you just be an analyst civvy side?

An E4, depending on where you live can make weell over the equivelent of 45-50K in the civilian world because BAH and BAS are not taxed therefore the net pay of an E4 can be equal to a civilian that makes 45-50K. It depends where you live though.

What do most of you E4's out there with dependents bring home after tax per pay period?

honestly, like a few others have said, if you are in it for the cash, get lost. But the other thing that you have to think for is all the **** you do NOT pay for that I had to pay for before I joined. I get cash every month to buy food with (or a meal card when I still lived in the barracks). Plus, medical/dental benefits that I don't pay for that I did before. While I got paid about $60 before I came in, a big chunk came out of my pay check for my 401K and my medical insurance...

Thats roughly 40K if you were in the civilian sector paying tax on 100% on your income.

If a soldier is an E4 with 10 years of service and looking to make more money then your best bet is to get yourself promoted. But with that comes more responsibility and leadership. the civy version of most MI jobs pay very well and it would be a better bet to go that route if money is all you're concerned with. not quite sure what an intel analyst qold do during a deployment. bunch of fobbits here in KAF.

Yeah RCP for an SPC/CPL (non-promotable) is 10 years active service or 15 years active federal servioce for a SPC/CPL(promotable).
