It's a friendly area. You can go downtown to the mall.. The Ice Slide Is AWESOME!! But hotter than **** in the summer!!

It's not bad if you don't mind the smell of sewage.. Those Cadillacs are getting really run down and that base is WAY over crowded. Bagram was cleaner..... And I was staying w/ the Army.

No civilian clothes at Al Udeid. PT uniform all the way.

I passed through the deed many times. Really nice base and it has everything that you'll need. The only bad part is that its treated more like a stateside base than anything.

Yeah, I'm at the deid right now too. If you're staying 6 months or more and you're a NCO, you'll get to stay at the new dorms, BPC. If not, you'll stay at the ghetto CC area.lol.

BTW, those caddies will eventually get replace by bigger better ones.

when i was there in 02-03 it was civi's until we went in delta then it was dcu's only. tent city was nice base was really lax. now passing through in 06 that place is a dump, still a vacation but very run down and stateside regular base like. i would rather go to talil ab before i go to the deid again.

Club Med FTL. Only good thing about it is the Desert Princesses that are actual 8's back home in their bikini's at the Pool/Dairy Queen. I hated going through that place and I hated the uniform ****'s even worse.

lol, uniform *****.

There have been E7s, E8s, and E9s roaming around at night at Arifjan checking for clearly displayed ID, pt belts at night, and overall proper uniform wear and appearance. I know I feel better trained for combat because they are doing the same thing our E5s and E6s do 24/7. Risk aside, it makes me glad when we go outside the wire to areas not run like a stateside garrison.

I'm not complaining. My boss always say, "if you have time to complain, you're not working hard enough..."
