Its 100% taxable. Korea is not included in the combat zone tax exclusion.

That seems to be a popular rumor going around.... but they are right it's not...... I'm a C-5 Loadmaster and I flew there a few months ago..... landed at Osan...

Never got my tax free for that month...... next month went to Kuwait. BAM 700 bucks back.....

Maybe while she is in Korea her command will let her to a 30 day tour in Iraq? maybe even Kuwait if that is tax free too.

Yeah I am at Osan right now...not that much fun. But I dont have my girl over here and that is a big part of it. But to answer your question no it's not tax free over here.

cookba- it is really hard to go on a tour of any length why you are in Korea there is to much to do here and shops cant afford to deploy there people.

Maybe if she were in the Army would her CC let her go to Iraq and in a MOS of Medical or MP, but they would have no need for her over there as Airfield Mgt.
