Because in typical "BMW talk" the 3 stands for the series of the car and the last 2 numbers like the 25 in "325i" is the engine size. The 325i has a 2.5l engine. So i took the 5.3l and put it as its name and made a 353i.

Did you have much trouble slapping that LSx into the tiny e30? I just picked up a DD e30 and have a spare lq4 i WAS going to throw into my nova (im selling it now).
Was the 5.3 you used iron or alum?

It really wasn't to bad. Being just myself doing the entire swap made it probaly harder. Just from having to hold the engine up on the cherry picker and keeping it level while tack welding up the motor mounts and ect ect.
The hardest of all was me being a newb on a motor swap like this was the wireing. I read so much on how to do it, and now its cake. lol.
But overall it wasnt to bad. Just a little custom things here and there like relocating the breakbooster and having to make a custom moutn and whatnot were things that came along with the swap.
But my engine is a cast block. With me(200lbs) 1/2 tank of gas and the car with full interior and the swap with a th400 trans it weight in at 3050. So i would say the car itself is near 2800 without gutting or doing anything for weight reduction.
