i cant believe this thread is still going on.... PHYSICS PEOPLE!!! The more power u make the more tire u need. They both come out with the same size tire and one has 120 more hp. What do u expect the launch to look like?

The gt500 won, end of story. On top of that, the gt500 is trapping over 5mph higher...
That being said, the gt500 isn't in the same league as the SS and the SS was not designed to compete with it. The SS starts at $30k, the GT500 at $47k.
Which would I buy? Neither, they're both fat as all hell. The GT500 weighs 3900lbs and the SS weighs 3800lbs. You could get a pretty powerful sedan that weighs in around that much and that would make a better DD. Atleast the GT500 has an optional GPS, but the live axle can't be too comfortable...
Screw them both, I'd rather have a C6 (or even a C5).

HAHAHA they say "you get what you pay for?" How is that? You can get a car that's literally 1 second faster in the 1320 for another 30 grand, that's lame as hell. I rather stick 10k in the SS and blow the **** out of that Cobra. That's just pathetic I'm sorry, when will ford ever learn. 
It's come to this I guess, considering the vette destroyed the cobra in every way, now they put it up against the SS lol.

ok to me thats not a fair race the GT500 is almost 15K more and 114HP more and orcourse the GT500 will pull uptop its SUPERCHARGED but hell for 1/10 slower and 15K less the camaro is the bang for the buck but here is something to be proud of the Z06 completely demolishes the GT500

100lb difference? pretty close...The M6 GT500 is rated at 3924lbs and the M6 Camaro SS is 3849lbs and the auto is 3902lbs.

Ummm.. look at 1:54-58 it looks like he miss a gear or fudge somthing. The gt500 was not spinning and the way the ss pulled on the gt5 in second but falls on its face in third thats bull ****. Im not sayin the ss should have won but these stupid pro testers and the media constrew ****. 540 hp gt5 should be in the low 11's with tires the ss should be high 11's with good tires. This bullshit street testing is gay you want me to buy any one of those cars test them for real. Top end real 1/4 standing mile ect.

took the words right out of my mouth. Assuming the price tags the said were correct the KR comes in at $151.85/hp, and the Z06 comes in at $150.49/hp, a pretty comparable match to say the least. I am happy to see the Z06 come out on top but I almost wish ford/shelby would have shaved a little weight to keep things a little more interesting.
