Check out this vid! I didn't even know henessey did a camaro. This is a more respectable match up. I don't know the price tag of the camaro though so its hard to say whether or not it is a "fair" matchup.

Put a 48K 1lt LS3 vette vs a GT500 and feel the breeeeeeeze.

I like how the video **** on Ford fans in the beginning. Calling them fanbois and nevermind this, nevermind that. Epic

The GT500 is way out front. Damn...can you guys not even be realistic about things if it's not in favor of a LSx car?
Stop quoting friggin' magazine ET's and open your eyes.
the GT500 isnt that way out in front i think its just camera angle and camers dont judge distance too well, watch the vid and look at the side view its not that big of a gap, i think the ss is a better buy threw in threw

I do agree, BUT the GT500 is able to make a **** ton more power without to much work so with that said I would buy a GT500 over a camaro anyday due to mod reasons.

Bottom line is a supercharged 540hp $46k car vs a naturally aspirated 426hp $30k car.I think the Camaro did pretty well but not quite enough spunk for the GT500.

Well that just makes it even more impressive for the Camaro. A 364rwhp car ran within 1/10th of a 500rwhp car. Yet more facts to illustrate my point.

Ok I could only get through the first two pages of this nonsense. Don't get me wrong, I like the new Camaro and it has a great powerplant but you guys are either in serious denial or on crack to actually think that the new camaro stands up against the GT500. Did anyone else notice the GT500 blowing the tires off at the beginning?

"Put a supercharger on the Camaro and see what happens" blah blah blah.... throw a KB on the mustang and it will rape just about anything and still have reliability.

With the mark up on the camaro (ebay asking price is as high as $45-48). The difference is more like $3-5K. I drove both cars yesterday and there is no comparison.

Funny, I drove both cars too...and I feel the same way (that there is no comparison) however, i'm guessing that my pick is completely the opposite of yours.

Then I drove a C6Z and completely forgot about every other car I drove. My next car will either have two seats and a 427, or bear a crest and wreath on it's grille.

BTW, there are markups on the 2010 GT500 also. So i'd venture to guess that the price differential remains about the same.

Ironically I drove a 2008 C6 ZO6 too, and now feel the same way you do, I'm buying a ZO6. I guess that's a first...

You and I agree on something, as for the mark up, I have found more GT500's at Sticker than the new camaro.

Both cars are too heavy. No surprise the gt500 wins... It's supposed to go toe to toe with a vette. (but doesn't).

GM's engineering, as usual, is still better, and no supercar matchup loss will change that. Which is why GM > Ford.

Old GT500s I agree with you 110%, sticker and even below sticker (sometimes as much as $4k below MSRP here at a few dealerships).

Good luck finding that on the new and improved GT500 however.

I would like to know who Motor Trend hires to drive a 540hp car to a 12.8 1\4? or a 420hp car to a 12.9 1\4?

Maybe Memphis is the exception to the rule, but I went to 3 different Ford dealerships yesterday and they were all asking sticker, no ADM at all...

I have yet to come across any Camaro's that were marked up. Believe me I know there are lots out there, I just haven't personally found them. The one I drove and the three others I looked at could have been bought at sticker...hell maybe below, I dunno, didn't try.

Mark up on the Camaro!?

My neighbor just received his 2SS. Out the door for $35K
A friend of mine recently received his 1SS, out the door for $33K
Some random guy in my neighborhood just got his V6 RS for "under 29" and it looked like it had some dealer add-ons as well.
