But you're leaving out the fact that 550rwhp is still only going to get you high 11's with a perfect launch on slicks, which is laughable. More importantly, it also means you are still getting raped by cars with 100hp less, and in the case of the C6Z, absolutely flat-out annihilated by a bone stock car with over 100hp less.
That's my point. If all you are looking for is a dyno queen, then there is nothing wrong with this car at all. But if you actually want a fast car, then it's got some big (pun intended) problems.

Explain.
Only about 75% of their owners. You seem to think that this board represents the majority of f-body owners. It doesn't. It's only a very small percentage...probably less than 20%. The vast majority drive stock or very nearly stock (wheels/tint) f-bodies. Hard to imagine a life like that I know, and I feel bad for those cars, but it's the truth.
All that doesn't change the point. When you get into modding, all bets are off. There's no fair way to compare modded vehicles that will yield any useful information. That's why we look at STOCK cars. The state of car that 90% of the American public drives. We always get the "potential" argument with F.I. cars that underperform from the factory. That's as much a ricer excuse as anything. Bottom line is the GT500 is a dissapointment, and so is the new Camaro to an extent. The difference is that the Camaro is a phenomenal package that simply doesn't do quite as much as it should with 400hp+. The GT500 does what the Camaro should do, only it needs 540hp to do it.

Different animals. The KR is lighter and very underrated. They dyno in the 510hp/480lb-530hp/510lb range, which is only 20-40hp short of your 550rwhp modded example car. 20-40hp is not going to get much more than 11.8 if the KR is running 11.9's with 510hp at the wheels. That's with slicks I remind you.

Where did you find the KR is lighter? It has a couple carbon-fiber pieces like the front splitter but that's it. They are under-rated, you're right there, but the '10 GT gets the same exact tune upgrade and intake as the KR plus the 3.73's so wouldn't common sense say they are under-rated as well?

Do you have any links for either? I haven't seen anything that said they are any lighter, nor have I seen any 2010 GT500 dyno sheets yet. Hell I didn't even know the '10s were in the showrooms yet.

Though the 5th gen has grown on me, I don't know if I would ever buy one. Nice platform all around though.

The camaro was beat, plain and simple. I personally don't think its a very good matchup, since they never really compared the older cobra's to 4th gen F-bodies in most magazine tests way back when. But the GT500 IS a faster car, it DOES have 500hp from the factory, and DOES handle marginally better than the camaro. Any car that you dump money into could be faster, better looking or could handle better. Money not being a factor, the GT500 is a better performing car, you guys should come to terms with that.
All that aside, I'm a GM guy, so I'd rather buy the camaro IF I had the choice between the two.
Now, for those who are trying to fathom why everyone on here is acting like such kids I can tell you, this is a GM site.. If I posted some sort of video of a stang getting fucked up by some sort of GM machinery on SVTforums or something along those lines, people will get mad and act like kids as well. They are both car forums, it's all the same ****. I'm surprised YOU guys haven't come to terms with that by now.

HAHAHA they say "you get what you pay for?" How is that? You can get a car that's literally 1 second faster in the 1320 for another 30 grand, that's lame as hell. I rather stick 10k in the SS and blow the **** out of that Cobra. That's just pathetic I'm sorry, when will ford ever learn. It's come to this I guess, considering the vette destroyed the cobra in every way, now they put it up against the SS lol.
