Hey Guys-
C5 owner here, I make an internet TV show called The Smoking Tire, and this week we focused on a review of the C6RS by Pratt & Miller. Thought I'd share with you.

You guys make very valid points. If you look at the RS from the point of view of, "it's twice the price of the ZR1 for the same exact performance," then yes, it's a total waste of money. But if you look at it from a collector car value, then in 20 years this thing will be worth 3-4 times what the equivalent condition ZR1 would fetch at Barrett Jackson 2030.
It all depends on your point of view... Either way, I'm glad you guys like the video.

I believe these cars were made to prove what Pratt&Miller could do not so much as "Bang for the buck" car lol. Gotta remember these are the people that brought you the C5-R and C6-R and helped bring the Corvette nameplate back to life as far as sports car racing goes. Even at it's price it will still out perform it's competition such as Ferrari, Porsche, etc. Plus this car was out before the ZR-1 lol.

Good video. Looks like the kind of show I'd watch -- regular guys driving the kind of cars I can only dream about and being very honest about the ride.
I like that the C6RS' body is made of carbon fiber. That was something that bothered me about the ZR1 when Jeremy Clarkson was poking the rear bumper and it was dipping in. I also didn't like how the ZR1s that he drove displayed horrible fit and finish as they were falling apart while he drove them. I guess it's just proof that GM still hasn't fixed itself -- even with our money at its disposal.
~disclaimer~ I've been a GM guy since I could walk. However, after taking the bailout, deciding to kill off good nameplates like Pontiac and Saturn while keeping the old-man Buick -- screw GM. I'll always admire good cars with passion like the Vette, Camaro, and CTSV, but I can no longer blindly wave the GM banner.

That car is absolutely wicked. I'm not a huge fan of the ZR1 styling, and this one is very similar but I like it 100x more. The interior is sick too. Great show man, nice work.
I'd say it would be worth $185k, but not that plus a Z06, that is crazy. One question though, since they are replacing everything, why can it not be done with a base C6?

The primary reason is that the starting point for the Katech 8.2L engine is the LS7, not the LS2/3. I also think there are a few other bits from the Z06 that make it over to this car as well that aren't standard on the base C6. I'm sure that, with enough money, you could build this car using a base C6 but the cost to convert those bits would outweigh the cost of simply starting with a Z06.
