Do you have a project idea that we should know about? *GMHTP*
GM High Tech Performance magazine is making a call to all creative builders, mechanics and dreamers to submit your project ideas to the magazine. We can't tell you much more then the bare essentials (mainly because we don't know what we're going to do yet!), but we can tell you this.
We are looking for anything that fits into the following criteria:
Interesting engine builds - example: a 294 cubic-inch, high compression, mechanically injected alcohol LSX.
Off the wall car builds - example: a 454SS road race truck, a drift capable Monte Carlo, etc.
One off conversions - example: a supercharged rear wheel drive Cobalt SS, a GN powered Cadillac CTS, etc.
Current projects - Are you building a car that takes a different path, something that you have always wanted to try? No matter how far along you are, we want to see some progress photos!
Finished projects - Have you already built something that we just have to see to believe? Do you have a car that we normally wouldn't feature but you know we would die for? Send it in!
And, well, pretty much anything else that you can think of! If it has to do with GMHTP, no matter how crazy of an idea, we want to here from you about it. BE CREATIVE!
Now, here's the deal. We don't want you to post any of your ideas here. Instead we need you to email them to GMHTP.Projects@sorc.com, along with any pictures, renderings or diagrams you may already have. Along with the idea, we also need you to include your complete name, phone number and address, so we can give you credit if we use your idea in print. Again, we're not sure what this may turn into but we're excited to see what our readers are currently dreaming up. Who knows, maybe your idea can make the pages of the magazine and maybe, just maybe, you could even see your idea come to life.
Look forward to hearing from you,
The staff of GM High Tech Performance

I bought a damaged 04 GTO for $1600(missing eng./trans),fixing it with the help of friends,a low buck effort to go 10's.
Rebuilt LQ4 with a used LS2 rotating assm.
Powerglide
Gathering up used Procharger components...
Was shooting to do it for $10K but may hit $12K total...

How about the fact that the wife and I MADE most of our show and hot rod parts. and we show that car and its been pretty successful.
We made: the underhood mirrrors, all the pulleys the custom lid and air box all the custom chrome parts under the hood, the strut bar, the frame rails, the adjustable toqure arm,the adjustable Lower Control Arms, The Watts Link. We polished the valve covers, the water pump, the idler bracket, the driveshaft. the mastercylinder, the front & back calipers
This year we are re-making the lid and airbox, going completly different style. We are using the Phoenix Bird as our starting point..

Turning a nice LS1 SS into a super car (think F-Body super car, ZL1, Dick Harrel) wannabe... It is Sommer's car. We're doing powertrain (402 with AFR heads and lots of goodies, built tranny, etc...) and appearance (Dick Harrel style front bumper, CME rear, houndstooth interior, etc...)...
